This hop has been a long time coming and now here it is...
Whoohoo! It's Nancy Drew!
Thanks, Madame Samm, for letting me be the cheerleader for this sleuthy hop.
(I know! "Sleuthy" isn't a word, but it should be!)
My friend's daughter, Rachel, is a HUGE Nancy Drew fan, so this
gave me lots of incentive to get creative just for her.
I just knew that Rachel would need a warm little quilt
to bundle up in while reading her Nancy Drew books.
I added a little fun to the quilt by embroidering
"Rachel did it" in the middle of my paper pieced magnifying glass
that I found over at Sew Hooked (it was free!) Just so you know,
the bloody spots are not from the pricks in my fingers while embroidering.
Full view of Rachel's quilt
And, here's a few books that will be wrapped up in Rachel's
little package of Nancy Drew fun.
A little ruffly apron for Rachel to wear while mixing up some of the
Nancy Drew cookbook's recipes. Oh boy, I love that ruffler tool!
My daughter was the model for this frilly apron, but she
wasn't willing to have me show all of her--she's really sweet AND
cute, so it's your loss not to get to see ALL of her.
Yes, there is a cookbook for Rachel, too!
Though I'm not a great cook, I followed a pattern (yes, I did!)
and made this little apron just for me. It's reversible (so I can flip it over
when I make a disgusting mess of it) and it has two pockets.
It's Mary Mulari's Church Ladies' Apron Pattern.

I was certain that Rachel would need a little sewing/sleuth kit to
help her solve the mysteries of the world (or a tear in her skirt),
so I made a kit (without a pattern) just for her.
Here it is all rolled up and hiding what's inside.
Once it is unrolled, there's pockets and places filled with
thread, needles, safety pins, a notepad with an "R", a magnifying glass,
a purple pen, some scissors, and a built-in pincushion.
If you look close you can see the pincushion
