Mystery Solved! There's A Winner!

I printed out ALL those names from all eight clue posts (there were lots of them
and it took me longer to cut them up then I thought it would),
put them in a big, big bowl,
stirred them around, and around, and around...
(whew...got a little dizzy doing that),
and reached in to grab this one little piece of paper:

Congratulations to

Jeanie!
(An email has been sent to her.)

What did she win? Well...thanks to Jane and her
cute little Etsy store, I picked out this Domestic Diva fabric package
which Jane will be sending off to her. I love that fabric and thought
maybe I should keep it instead of giving it to Jeanie,
but...she won it fair and square, so I won't keep it.

Clue #2 AND Day 2 - Nancy Drew Blog Hop

“Nancy, every place you go, it seems as if mysteries just pile up one after another.”
The Message in the Hollow Oak

Sometimes ideas make total sense in my head, but when it goes on paper
(or my blog) it doesn't quite turn out as I expected it to.
Like my game of clues.

I didn't mean to confuse people on where
to leave comments, but I think I did.

SORRY!

I'm chalking it up to having a cold all week and feeling yucky
..yep...I'm going with that and I'm sticking to that story!
So....I'll try to make it simpler to play and leave comments.

First off, here's a short recap of what I made for my friend's
daughter, Rachel, who is a HUGE Nancy Drew fan.

A quilt
with her name embroidered on it.
A little ruffly apron
and a sewing/sleuth kit just for her.

Oh, and a reversible apron just for me.

Now for the hopefully-not-so-confusing

GIVEAWAY

See if you are sleuthy enough to find the answers to the clues I've left you.
Clue #2
Can you find it?
This can be found somewhere among today's Nancy Drew Blog Hoppers:

Here's the rules:

  2. You can comment once each day on each of the clue posts (there will be 8 clue posts.)
  3. On the last day of the hop, March 15th at 6 p.m. PST, I will put ALL the comments from ALL of my 8 clue posts in a big bowl and draw one name who will be the winner of my MYSTERY GIVEAWAY. I promise I will include all those comments from the first day of my confusing game.
  4. I will mail the mystery giveaway prize anywhere.

Nancy Drew Is A Clue, Me, and Giveaways!

This hop has been a long time coming and now here it is...
Whoohoo! It's Nancy Drew!
Thanks, Madame Samm, for letting me be the cheerleader for this sleuthy hop.
(I know! "Sleuthy" isn't a word, but it should be!)

My friend's daughter, Rachel, is a HUGE Nancy Drew fan, so this
gave me lots of incentive to get creative just for her.

I just knew that Rachel would need a warm little quilt
to bundle up in while reading her Nancy Drew books.
I added a little fun to the quilt by embroidering
"Rachel did it" in the middle of my paper pieced magnifying glass
that I found over at Sew Hooked (it was free!) Just so you know,
the bloody spots are not from the pricks in my fingers while embroidering.
Full view of Rachel's quilt

And, here's a few books that will be wrapped up in Rachel's
little package of Nancy Drew fun.

A little ruffly apron for Rachel to wear while mixing up some of the
Nancy Drew cookbook's recipes. Oh boy, I love that ruffler tool!
My daughter was the model for this frilly apron, but she
wasn't willing to have me show all of her--she's really sweet AND
cute, so it's your loss not to get to see ALL of her.
Yes, there is a cookbook for Rachel, too!

Though I'm not a great cook, I followed a pattern (yes, I did!)
and made this little apron just for me. It's reversible (so I can flip it over
when I make a disgusting mess of it) and it has two pockets.
It's Mary Mulari's Church Ladies' Apron Pattern.

I was certain that Rachel would need a little sewing/sleuth kit to
help her solve the mysteries of the world (or a tear in her skirt),
so I made a kit (without a pattern) just for her.
Here it is all rolled up and hiding what's inside.
Once it is unrolled, there's pockets and places filled with
thread, needles, safety pins, a notepad with an "R", a magnifying glass,
a purple pen, some scissors, and a built-in pincushion.

If you look close you can see the pincushion

Nancy Drew. Tomorrow. Wow!

Being the cheerleader sleuth that I am,
I've seen a few clues in the last few days
that knocked the magnifying glass
right out of my hand. Really! You will
not believe some of the incredible projects
I've been spying on.

Tomorrow starts the whole investigation
into secrets, clues, and ideas that involve
Moda's Nancy Drew fabric.
I've also heard some whispering
that there will be giveaways.
Yep...lots of giveaways!

Come back tomorrow to see
who's projects will be investigated.

Nancy Drew....Is...Coming!

Yes, she is...FINALLY!

There will be clues, mysteries, and shocking surprises...
okay, so they won't be so "shocking"
but they will be AMAZING!

Lots of giveaways, too!

One Nancy Drew hopper sent me this rhyming CLUE:
Here’s a clue to this designer:
Her project still looks like a charm, ;)
And at this point some cheerleaders would be alarmed.
But although family call her lazy,
She just procrastinates like crazy.
Though when push comes to shove,
Does best what she loves.
Creating and sewing is as much of her as breathing air,
And trying a bit of everything is her standard fare…sooooo
Here are the clues to what she is making….
It takes some pretty squares, 15 to be exact,
And what she is making is unusual, that’s a fact.
But it is also quite common and most have a few…….
And she really likes them and has chosen one to do!
Do you have a Clue? She’s not a new hopper she’s done a few.
There were plenty of bowls, and leaves at Fall,
Halloween tricks and holiday houses….
Who is she? And what is she making?

I'm sure she is busy, busy, busy getting ready
to show her Nancy Drew creation...
I can't wait to see it and all the other
mysterious projects!

Once the hop starts, be sure to keep your eye out for clues
and visit Sew We Quilt for her top choices
of the day...PLUS...giveaways you won't want to miss!
It all begins on March 6th...Nancy Drew is a Clue!

Nancy Drew PLUS It's Going To Get Wordy

We're still planning on having fun with Nancy Drew fabric
in MARCH, so if you want to play along send me an email.
If you don't have a blog, that's okay. We have one you can use
to show off your Nancy Drew creation(s).
The schedule is over there on the right.
It's almost time for
In Your Words to start!

I'm terrible about labeling my quilts or projects, but this time
I decided to give it my best effort and pulled
out my printable fabric and whipped up this label:

It's attached to the back of my wordy project--
I'll let you know how it looks after I wash it.

The Box, Etc., Etc., Etc.

This is THE BOX that will hold my
Follower's Giveaway Gift.
It's a small box, 6x6x6, but I promise it will hold
special gifts just for the winner.
I've started to fill it with goodies.
That's a cute pair of tweezers at the bottom of the box.
She won't be lonely for long!

~~~~~~~~~~~
This is a snippet of a gift that will be mailed out today.
I can't show it all, yet, because then it wouldn't be
a SURPRISE to the receiver.
~~~~~~~~~~~

Have you signed up for In Your Words? I did!
Madame Samm has a cute little sign to add words to.
I used Picasa to make my signs.
