It Is Time To Be Sweet On You

Joan at Moosestash Quilting had the perfect idea and challenge for February.
"Sweet on You" in the month of love gave us lots of ways to be creative!

CHALLENGE:

Are you sweet on treats?
Are you sweet on stitching a special project?
Are you sweet on, well anything you love?

As an ambassador for Benartex, they sent me some beautiful Valentine fabric to sew with.
I am definitely "sweet" on "Be My Gnomie" fabric!

Love and Kisses
55" x 75"

"Be My Gnomie" is full of "sweet" designs, that's for sure!

Benartex Chalk Texture Pink and Light Pink, and Superior Solids White went great with it.

I went with a simple wandering stitch for quilting and yes, I machine quilt all my bindings.
Hand stitching those bindings are way too much for these old hands!

This is another project using "Be My Gnomie" that I made.

Making A Seam Ripper Is So Fun

It really is possible to teach an old dog (like me) new tricks/crafts. My friend, Susan, told me about a class at Sew Yeah where you make your own seam ripper. I'd been sick for a month, so I hadn't gotten out much which made me initially say, "no." Luckily, I changed my mind and went for it.

Carla from Creatin' in the Sticks was coming into town and it worked out perfectly for her to go. We had so much fun! I was even brave enough to go first.

Carla and me ready to rock that lathe machine. Her glasses are cuter than my goggles.

This is the beginning piece of wood.

They actually trusted me with this...scary! I've never used a lathe before. Yikes.

Zach was a great teacher! When he first started showing us the machine and telling us how we were
going to make the seam ripper, we were all a little nervous and wanted him to just make it for us.

I love all the colors in this.

My seam ripper finished and ready to take on those sewing mistakes of mine.

Carla, ready to show off her skills.

That's Susan in the back.
She's supervising Carla and Zach since she already finished her seam ripper.

Nancy was serious about making her seam ripper.

The final products!
Left to right: Mine, Susan's, the other Carol's, Carla's, Nancy's.
The bottom one is Zach's demo.

Definitely a treasured adventure for me!

Which Way To Witchville BOM's For February

February means a new block...woohoo!
Which Way to Witchville has new blocks for you and they are so fun!

Which Way to Witchville
48" x 64"

I used Benartex "Halloween Spirit" and Benartex "Cotton Shot" in my quilt.
I love to use solids when I applique!

Check out Joan of Moosestash Quilting's version HERE and Carla of Creatin' in the Sticks HERE.
It's amazing how different it can look with other fabrics.

The January block:

Town Square by Carla at Creatin' in the Sticks can be found HERE

The February blocks:

An Apple A Day by Carol at Just Let Me Quilt can be found HERE.

Witchville Bakery by Joan at Moosestash Quilting can be found HERE.

How does our Which Way to Witchville BOM work?

The 2023 "Which Way to Witchville" BOM runs from January 1st through September 30th.

All block releases happen on our Cackling Stitches Facebook page HERE.

We even give you the fabric requirements early to help you conjure/gather your fabrics.
You can find it HERE.

It's not a mystery BOM. We show you each of our finished quilts!

On the first day of each month, we release a block pattern (sometimes it's more than one)
that is free for the entire calendar month. After that, those blocks go into our
ETSY shops where you can purchase them for $2 each.

New and free block(s) then appear for the new month...and so on, and so on.

So, what is "NEW" and never been done by us?

Beginning January 1st, the ENTIRE pattern is available in each of our ETSY shops for $15.
We've had so many people ask us if they can buy the whole thing at once, so we decided to go for it.
If you can't wait for each block release or you don't have a Facebook page, this is for you!

We hope you appreciate the time we put into creating this BOM and understand that we keep
the costs to a minimum for you. We ask that you respect our copyrights and do not share the
pattern with others. You're welcome to direct your friends to our Cackling Stitches Group
Facebook or any of our ETSY shops so they can get their own patterns starting January 1st.
