Quilted Works Party And Yes I Bought More Fabric

I can count on one hand how many times I've walked into a quilt store and not bought anything.
Yesterday wasn't one of those days.
With "quilt celebrities" hanging around to chat with, I was having so much fun
that the fabric and patterns just worked their way into my hands and out the door.

I met the designer of this adorable quilt, Lemonade Stand, that was published in America Patchwork
Quilting this month. Patricia Frei was as nice as can be! Look, I even have a signed copy by her!
You can buy a laser cut kit at Quilted Works to make one or look for the magazine.

The fabrics in the quilt are Moda's "Little Miss Sunshine" by designer Vanessa GoertzenI met her,
too! She was so sweet, but I found that standing next to her caused me to buy a couple of her patterns.
She didn't even have to twist my arm because they were so cute! She blogs over at Lella Boutique.
You can find her patterns in her shop. These are the two I bought...love them!

I also met Natalie Bonner from Piece N Quilt ...oh my gosh that woman can quilt!
Her work is amazing and she is such a nice lady, too! Check out her blog to see her work.

Bea from Beaquilter won the laser kit from Quilted Works.
Congratulations, Bea!

Time to sew some of the cool fabrics and patterns I bought at Quilted Works.
So many fun projects...so little time!

Quilted Works Birthday And Giveaway Time!

Can a quilt store celebrate becoming a teenager?
Well, yes...sort of.
Quilted Works is having a birthday party this week to celebrate turning 13!
13...teenager...get it?

Happy Birthday, Quilted Works!
To help get their party started, they gave me a laser cut pillow kit to share with one of you.
How awesome is that!

This cute, cute pattern by Kimberbell is so easy to make...really it is,
especially with all the pieces cut out and ready to press on the fabric.
Love it!
I know how easy it is because I bought a kit for myself.

You get four chances on this giveaway, but you don't have to do them all.
The first entry just requires an email address and a click on "Enter"...that's it!
The other entries are extras...it's totally up to you.

Sorry, cupcakes are not included in the giveaway (I just might have eaten them...maybe.)
I bought them at The Sweet Tooth Fairy to get started on the birthday celebrating.
It was hard to choose which ones to buy. So many yummies in that store!

It's A Birthday Pillow

It all started with me needing just one piece of fabric to finish something, but of course I saw
something else at the quilt store. It called my name so how could I resist!
I blame Quilted Works for having another cute laser cut kit sitting there for me to see.

I bought the kit and made the pillow.
It's not really my birthday, but I had to hang something on those cute clothespins.
I really need to make better letters, but I love the pillow!

Want to know the best part?

They gave me a kit to share with a friend, so next week during their birthday celebration
I'll be having a giveaway of this pillow kit. Cool, isn't it! Check back on Monday to enter.
Thank you, Quilted Works for letting me help you celebrate your 13th birthday!

It's Been A Bunny Day

I made a bunny today from Jennifer Jangle's fabric and pattern.
This little bunny certainly makes me smile!

I think she needs a bow, though. I'll add that tomorrow.
Of course, I changed it a bit...I made it with wool and added the ruffle.

I've also been busy sewing a pillow and a quilt, but they aren't done, yet.
A little thunder and rain made me feel like being a little extremely lazy today.
Thankfully, the hubby was willing to go out to dinner so I didn't have to cook.
Yes, I am spoiled by him!

The Oval Basket Pattern

It's never too early to get ready for a 4th of July picnic or barbecue!
The Oval Basket makes a perfect accessory for holding all those plates, napkins, and utensils.
The instructions are over on the ThermOWeb blog today...check it out HERE!

Ironing on the Deco Foil is so easy and adds some sparkle to any paper or fabric project.

I'm ready for picnic and barbecue weather...are you?

It's Been A Lot Of Years

What has been a lot of years?
Being married 44 years to this guy...April 7th, 1972.

He planned the day.
It was his idea to go for a hike to celebrate our anniversary.
I thought to myself, "You're kidding, right. A hike?"
I thought going shopping for fabric was a better idea, but I let him lead the way.

The beginning of the hike...lots of lava rocks to step around and not trip over.

The path to White Rocks in Snow Canyon in Utah

There were only a couple plants with flowers, but they were pretty.

Really white, tall, and steep rocks at the end of the trail!

To make it perfectly clear...see those dots on the top of the mountain?
That is NOT us at the top of that mountain. Definitely not me!

3 daughters + 1 son + 5 Monkey Boys + 3 son-in-laws =
44 years and an interesting life with this guy.

It was a great day with the love of my life!

My favorite quilting store, Quilted Works, has some exciting news! Their Lemonade Stand quilt
by Designer Patricia Frei was published in American Patchwork & Quilting.
Congratulations, Quilted Works and Patricia!

Page 20 and autographed by Patricia Frei...so cool! I can't wait to make this beauty!

The quilt is hanging in their store and it is just stunning.
Natalia Bonner of Piece N Quilt used her incredibly gorgeous quilting abilities on it. Love it!
You can preorder a Lemonade Stand laser cut kit HERE or buy the magazine to get the
pattern and use your own fabrics. Either way, it's an awesome quilt!

Oh, The Places You'll Go Zipper Bag

I had such fun adding Deco Foil to my zipper bag!
Check it out over at the ThermOWeb blog where I'm showing how I made it.

All Zipped Up

It would make a great gift for the high school graduate who is college-bound.
Fill it with useful goodies like cleaning supplies, towels, and kitchen utensils.
You could even add a first aid All Zipped Up-Little Bag.

It's also a perfect sized laptop bag!

Deco Foil adds a little bling to fabric and paper that really shines...you have to try it!
It comes in so many colors, too.

PDF patterns can be found at my Craftsy page
