Wandering Camera In October

I managed to do a little Wandering Camera photo shots on a day trip to
Zion National Park in Utah. The views were spectacular!

There were so many red rocks and mountains, each changing to lighter or
darker red depending on which way we were driving.

There was so much texture in all those rocks, too!

A few deer and mountain sheep popped up for quick glances.

A rare moment of an empty road. Zion has millions of visitors each year.

The tunnel...I was scared of this when I was a kid. It's still kind of spooky and very dark.

A few flowers were still hanging in there before the cold hits.

It was a fabulous day!

Another day was spent at Grandpa's Pond, a favorite picnic spot.

It was a perfect setting for my shark quilt. There's no sharks in this pond,
but they did remove an alligator from there last year. Apparently, someone
thought it would be a good place to drop off their overgrown pet. Yikes!

This guy came in for a close-up.

That blue eye is gorgeous!

Of course, there had to be a bug...in this case it was a bee.

Thanks for stopping by today for a quick view of my September Wandering Camera.

Sewing And Buffalo Adventures In The Park

I've been busy sewing for things to come and even took a little adventure
outing to take pics of those sewn projects. I ran into this interesting and artsy
buffalo while taking photos at a Utah park. He's sporting some fancy artwork!

There were flowers blooming, too...must be time for spring!

There were lots of bronze statues in the park. This guy looked pretty amazing!

I remember this flood and was grateful for all those who helped.

See, I am sewing...

It's Been A Lot Of Years

What has been a lot of years?
Being married 44 years to this guy...April 7th, 1972.

He planned the day.
It was his idea to go for a hike to celebrate our anniversary.
I thought to myself, "You're kidding, right. A hike?"
I thought going shopping for fabric was a better idea, but I let him lead the way.

The beginning of the hike...lots of lava rocks to step around and not trip over.

The path to White Rocks in Snow Canyon in Utah

There were only a couple plants with flowers, but they were pretty.

Really white, tall, and steep rocks at the end of the trail!

To make it perfectly clear...see those dots on the top of the mountain?
That is NOT us at the top of that mountain. Definitely not me!

3 daughters + 1 son + 5 Monkey Boys + 3 son-in-laws =
44 years and an interesting life with this guy.

It was a great day with the love of my life!

This Really Is Dog Gone Cute

After I got all the pieces sewn together for my first block, I had to agree with Lorna...
it really is a dog gone cute pattern!

Lorna at Sew Fresh Quilts has a sew along and a blog hop using several styles of these pups.
I can't wait to see what everyone does with their doggies!

Sew Fresh Quilts

The EQ7 Seasons Row-A-Long is quickly approaching and since my quilt was all bound, it was time
to take photos. I can't show the quilt until October 6th, but I can show where I went to take the pics.

It was about 88 degrees in the desert, but my trusty helper and I headed out to find the perfect spot.
It was really hot, but it looked pretty good here...

With a slight turn to the left, this was the other view...

Of course, we came across the usual mystery holes that I carefully avoided!

The hubby turned into a little boy again when he saw the hole. Bravely wearing his flip-flops,
he used a stick to poke and dig to see what was in there. Luckily, nothing jumped out to bite his toes!

Time to make more dog gone cute puppies!

Quilted Works Row By Row 2015

I don't travel much, usually just between two states, so I've never participated in the
Row by Row event. Well, when I saw this one at Quilted Works I HAD to join in...love it!

I picked it up late yesterday afternoon and had it sewn and appliques pressed on this morning in less
than an hour. I still need to sew around the edges, but that shouldn't take long once I get started.
This kit was ready-to-sew with all pieces cut, including the laser cut applique pieces.
Love, love, love those laser cuts!

If you're in the Utah area, stop by and get this cute block. The pattern is free,
but the kit will cost you. It was so worth it!

Call Quilted Works for directions...you will love their store!

Oh I Wish I Were In Dixie

I wished I was in Dixie so that's where I am...sort of.
The mountain says "Dixie" so it must be true!

With the Tammy 4 all Seasons blog hop fast approaching, the hubby and I went
looking for the perfect spot to take photos of my Tammy Bags. Found it here!

There's still a little snow in the shaded areas.

A Love Lock Bridge, too!

A love lock is a padlock which lovers lock to a bridge, gate, or public fixture to symbolize their love
and forever commitment to each other. Usually the names or initials of the lovers are inscribed on
the padlock and the key is thrown away to symbolize unbreakable love. The history of love locks
dates back at least 100 years to a Serbian tale of a broken engagement and heartbreak. Padlocks
were attached to bridges by young women to hopefully protect their own loves. How romantic!

Just so you know, we didn't leave a padlock on the bridge.
We've been together for so long, we know our love is unbreakable!
Ahhh, was that just so ooey gooey sugary sweet sounding?
How could I not feel that way when he is such a fun and crazy guy!

Almost time for Tammy 4 all Seasons!

Jeepers Creepers Is It Halloween Yet?

I sew a lot slower these days, but it is really a nice change. There were times I was whipping out 7-9 projects a month. Way too much! Now ...
