It's A Wild Life November Block Of The Month

We're coming close to the end of the It's A Wild Life block of the month,
but there's already another one in the works that will start in February...woohoo!
This month's block adds a bit of stinker to the quilt, but I don't think he'll be too much
of a problem because he seems to be quite distracted by something else.

Wishful Love
Unfinished size: 12 1/2" x 24 1/2"

Sew Incredibly Crazy has a giveaway each month, but you have to make the block
and link it on her blog. It's easy to do and the giveaways are always amazing!

I'm using Riley Blake Designs fabrics in all my blocks, including
Confetti, Kisses, and Crayola. I love all their fabrics!

Wandering Camera In October

I managed to do a little Wandering Camera photo shots on a day trip to
Zion National Park in Utah. The views were spectacular!

There were so many red rocks and mountains, each changing to lighter or
darker red depending on which way we were driving.

There was so much texture in all those rocks, too!

A few deer and mountain sheep popped up for quick glances.

A rare moment of an empty road. Zion has millions of visitors each year.

The tunnel...I was scared of this when I was a kid. It's still kind of spooky and very dark.

A few flowers were still hanging in there before the cold hits.

It was a fabulous day!

Another day was spent at Grandpa's Pond, a favorite picnic spot.

It was a perfect setting for my shark quilt. There's no sharks in this pond,
but they did remove an alligator from there last year. Apparently, someone
thought it would be a good place to drop off their overgrown pet. Yikes!

This guy came in for a close-up.

That blue eye is gorgeous!

Of course, there had to be a bug...in this case it was a bee.

Thanks for stopping by today for a quick view of my September Wandering Camera.

A Creepy "Peek A Boo Who" To You On My Blog Hop Day

Halloween is just plain creepy and fun, especially when creative people get together
to show off their spooky projects. Thank you, Marian at Seams To Be Sew, for
making it easy to share our creepiness with all of you in the Peek A Who Blog Hop!
Today is my day to share!

The Ghastlies have always been one of my favorite fabrics during Halloween,
though they are pretty cool for any time of the year. I fell in love with the pink skirt
girl because she totally reminds me of my sister, Susan, who is cute on the outside
but wickedly crazy like me on the inside. In runs in our family!

I only used three of my Ghastlie fabrics for this quilt and paper pieced the center block.

I enlarged this block to 18" x 18" to paper piece it. You can right click on it to save
it to your own pattern stash if you want to give it a try. It's very easy!

The border fabric of dueling Ghastlies has so much detail in it, as do all the Ghastlie fabrics.
I love them all!

This Halloween season has had me sewing a quite a few other things.
Some of you have already seen them, but in case you haven't...

Bellagosa's Favorite Hats

Ms. Winifred's Closet

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have the spookiest and happiest Halloween ever!

It's A Shark Quilt!

I'd made a shark quilt a while back using Riley Blake Design fabric and it
was quite a hit for a cute boy I know, but he wanted a bigger one in the same fabric.
He helped design it and drew a label for me to add.

It's A Shark!

We took a trip to "Grandpa's Pond" in Hurricane, Utah, to take photos.

I love the quilting by Quilted Works!

I added some applique to the label he drew and stitched his signature.
Yes, it took me since January to get this totally put together, but at least I finished it!

I think he'll be a happy boy to know I finally finished his quilt.

Virtual Cookie Exchange (And Other Christmas Stuff) Blog Hop

I've been doing the Virtual Cookie Exchange blog hop for several years and
it still excites me to see what everyone shares in Christmas recipes, traditions, and quilts.

It's not just about the cookies anymore!

The blog hop is at the end of November so this gives you plenty of time to decide what to share.
I'd love to have you join the fun this year!

If you don't want to bake anything, that's okay...you don't have to.
THE RULES for the Virtual Cookie Exchange are simple and should be stress free:

Share a Christmas cookie recipe, tradition, and/or quilt.
Recipes can be a favorite from your childhood or a current one.
Traditions and quilts can be old or new.

Post your project on your assigned day.

Have a giveaway or don't have a giveaway. It's totally up to you!

Add a tutorial or just post photos...again, it's up to you.

Visit everyone's blog on the list and leave a sweet comment.

That's it!

Dracula Says "Velcome To My House"

Maybe Dracula didn't actually say it should be "Velcome To My House", but he would have
if he was visiting my blog during the "Welcome To My House" blog hop.
I hope he never REALLY comes to my house because that would be a bit scary!

With this being my favorite time of year, Halloween of course, it’s time to drag out all the
decorations to cause  shrieks, screams, and scary scenes. That’s what Halloween is all about at
my house! As a kid, I never  liked watching vampire shows because they scared me way too much.
Bela Lugosi was one scary Count Dracula back in the olden days!
I always looked away when his eyes went into “come-to-me”  mode…yikes!

Looking back, those vampires were pretty lame compared to today’s television and movie
trendy-looking vampires. Some of them are very handsome guys that could easily lure me into
their waiting fangs! The “Velcome To My House” wall hanging or door hanger goes together
quickly using Heat n Bond Fleece Fusible High Loft and other ThermOWeb products. You
can have it ready to hang on your door just in time to “lure” those visiting neighbors or
trick-or-treaters into your home. Luckily, he’s not too scary

Check out all the details over at the Therm O Web blog today HERE.
You can find the PDF pattern for "Velcome To My House" in my Craftsy store HERE.
