Just Let Me Quilt

It feels like it took forever for this blog hop to arrive, but now that it has...I'm so excited!
The challenge was to make something that had wings in it. It could have flying geese, fairies,
butterflies, or whatever they wanted as long as it had wings. I can't wait to see all the wings!

New Blog Hop Alert - Be A Diamond

I'm so lucky to have many, many blogger friends who inspire me with all the things they make.

They are my "diamonds" because of all the brightness they add to my life.

This blog hop is for all of you who want to "Be A Diamond" and inspire someone else.

So...what are the rules of the "Be A Diamond" blog hop?

I did a search in my EQ8 for diamond blocks and found several. I hadn't thought of the
square in a square being a diamond, but it is! Here's a few I found:

Valentine Sew Along With ThermOWeb Projects

It's a fun day on the ThermOWeb blog today!
You'll find four projects to sew using four blocks released last month.
It was such a pleasure to work with the other designers to create Valentine designs.
My quilt or table topper went together quickly and I added one of my favorite
borders around the edge to give it a scalloped look. It is really easy to make!

I used a charm pack for the blocks and binding, some yardage for the sashings and borders,
and to put it all together I used some of my favorite ThermOWeb products:
Spray n Bond Basting Adhesive, Heat n Bond Fleece Fusible High Loft, and Aurifil Thread.

My Day For A Riley Blake Design Woven Gingham Project

Riley Blake Design's woven gingham fabric was such a joy to sew with!

Woven gingham is different than their other beautiful gingham fabric (which I love), because

each thread is dyed and woven to create the fabric's design. Instead of being light on one side

and darker on the other, both sides of the woven gingham are exactly the same. It's also lighter

weight fabric which makes it perfect for clothing or quilting. It's soft and beautiful!

Dress Up in Gingham
The finished quilt measures 47" x 50" and includes piecing and applique.

My inspiration for this quilt was from the memories I have from long, long ago of the dresses
I sewed with pinafores for my three girls when they were little. They always looked so sweet!

Wasn't it yesterday that my youngest daughter was this small?

It's hard to believe she's the mother of six Monkey Boys!

Blog Hops, Sew Alongs, And Blocks Of The Month

There's always something going on in my blog world and I love it when you

are a part of those happenings. There are some creative blog hops, sew alongs, and

blocks of the month coming up and I'd love to have you join in with me!

This month is Show Your Wings hosted by me. The challenge is to make a project

with some sort of wings on it...flying geese blocks, birds, ducks, fairies, etc.

Once a block hop is announced, it's usually a little over two months to finish something.

The blog hops fill up fast and this one is already full with some amazing people.

I can't wait to see their "wings"!

All About Strings Blog Hop

There's a Valentine Sew Along happening at ThermOWeb and it's free! Four designers created

One of the highlights of my blogging world is the yearly block of the month with

Sew Incredibly Crazy. This year's theme is A Time For All Seasons and the first block has

already been released. It's off to an amazing start! I'm so lucky to design and hang out with

Joan from Moosestash Quilting. I just love all of them and admire what they do!

A Time For All Seasons February Block Of The Month

And we're off for another fun year of Sew Incredibly Crazy's block of the month.

This year is A Time For All Seasons...fun!

The February blocks are by Amy herself and they both have a lot of love in them.

I'm using fabric I bought last year, Northcott's Canvas, and love the look of it.

Here's the basic quilt information:

62” x 74” quilt top (without outside borders)

5 rows across, 6 rows down

30 blocks (6 bonus blocks)

2” sashings

4 yards background fabric (allows for extra if needed)

2 ½ yards sashing fabric

Miscellaneous fabrics of your choice for appliques, etc.

(A fat quarter bundle works great for this)
