Rolling Ironing Board And The Witchy Quilt

With the help of my crew, I turned my big Sullivan ironing board into a solid and movable way to press all those fabric projects. I'm loving it!

The ironing board easily sits on top of the cart and the Velcro strap slipped through the
drawer area. The board is heavy enough that it doesn't slide around.
The wheels are a fabulous bonus to roll this thing where I need it.
It's about 35"-36" tall with the wheels and board.

I bought the ironing board online from Joann's and the microwave cart and board cover from Amazon.
Here are the links (I'm not an affiliate):

The big rectangle ironing board can be found HERE.

The ironing board cover can be found HERE.

The microwave cart can be found HERE. It comes unassembled.
The drawer has been great for holding my clapper, glue stick, and scissors.
I'm sure I'll find more things to throw in there.

I'm usually sewing applique quilts that I design, but this one called my name.
I wish when it was calling my name that it had let me know that it has a gazillion
1-1/2" pieces in almost every block. They make me crazy...I like big pieces!

After having to use my seam ripper way too many times, I thankfully remembered to use
that fabulous glue stick to make all the seams match.
Dab a little on the seam and iron both layers for a few seconds to hold it in place.
After sewing them, I only had a couple that moved a bit and weren't spot on.

It made a fast job of  matching the seams in the stars and skirt.

I started with the skirt because it was what got my attention in this pattern.
The directions in the pattern had pictures. I love picture directions!

I've been taking pictures of each section as I go along. I can't wait to finish it!

Joan at Moosestash Quilting and Carla at Creatin' In The Sticks have been
working just like me to get ready for the Cackling Stitches BOM. We're very excited!

Joan and I have been thinking of blog hop challenges for next year.
We're almost ready with those, too!
Here's a sneak peek for January. Details will be released soon.

About those blog hops Carla, Joan, and I host...we're changing it up a bit!
We've decided to call it Sew It - Show It.

We've been challenging our blogger friends each month and they never disappoint.
With a new name, Sew It-Show It, we'll be looking for bloggers each month
who want to meet our challenges and share their creations.

It won't be much different than our previous blog hops but will only be for four days.

Giveaways just might be included, too!

It all begins in January with Carla hosting the first Sew It-Show It in 2023.
She'll be posting about it soon so watch for it at Creatin' in the Sticks.

Joan, Carla, and I are seriously working our fingers to the bone right now.
We're getting ready for Cackling Stitches Block of the Month, "Which Way to Witchville."
We're so excited!
We'd love to have you join us on our Cackling Stitches Facebook page!

We're going to change this one up a little too, but we'll share all that good stuff later.
Trust me, my wicked friends have thought up so many spooky blocks.

I Am "Tickled Pink" About The Next Blog Hop

It is sign-up time for the February blog hop called "Tickled Pink" and it is hosted by the creatively talented Carla of Creatin' in the Sticks. How fun is this idea! With a baby granddaughter on the way, this is a perfect hop for me to sew for!

Here is the info Carla shared about "Tickled Pink":

What is a Blog Hop?

It's like a "show and tell" online.
Our blog hops feature sewing and quilting and are like joining a quilt guild without leaving home.  Once the theme (challenge) is presented we set to work sewing.
We inspire each other with projects, tutorials, or patterns.
Anyone can follow along.

There are about 2 months to sew something and join in on the fun.
It's another easy theme that should have you thinking of lots of things you could make.

The Challenge:

Create something with the color pink in it somewhere.
It's all about pink or being tickled (if you want) LOL
It's the month of love so really anything will do that tickle's us pink.
The theme is really your own interpretation, surprise us!

The Rules:

Post on your assigned day at 12:00 am Eastern time.
Have a giveaway or don't have a giveaway. It's totally optional!
Visit everyone's blog on the list and leave a sweet comment. Make friends!!!!

Are you in?
Send me an email with the following information:
Your first name
Your email address
Your blog name
Your blog URL

Subject Line: Tickled Pink

I'm in, are you? Please say "YES" and email Carla ASAP to join in!

The blog hop in January is hosted by Joan at Moosestash Quilting and she always
gets us inspired with her amazing ideas! Doesn't "Polar Plunge" sound seriously fun!

Email her to see if she has any openings for you!

Ghastly Ghouls Blog Hop Etc. Sign-ups

All the blog hops for the rest of the year were posted HERE, but now we're getting down to the nitty-gritty deadline of the last few hops. If you signed up for the remaining blog hops...YAY! If you didn't, you still have time. Maybe you can't remember if you signed up. That's okay, just email us or leave a comment and we'll check it out for you.

It's a week away until Joan at Moosestash Quilting hosts the "I'm Falling for You" blog hop. I can't wait to see what amazing projects get shown! It is never disappointing to see how creative quilters can be with our blog hop challenges.

The next blog hop is in October, hosted by me, and it's all about Halloween. Guess that's kind of obvious because of the name "Ghastly Ghouls." You can still sign up for this one...come on, you know you want to!

November will be a fun blog hop hosted by Carla at Creatin' in the Sticks. She's challenged us to make mug rugs. This would be a great time to look for small Christmas gift ideas. Everyone loves a mug rug! Check out her blog for more info and to sign-up.

The last blog hop of the year will be during the first week in December and it's been an annual event on my blog for a long time. It's the Virtual Christmas Cookie Exchange but it also includes Christmas projects. Let me know if you want to play along. I'd love to have you join in!

Carla, Joan, and I will be putting our heads together soon for next year's blog hop challenges. Fun times ahead!

Looking To The Future In Blog Hops

Joining up with Carla from Creatin' in the Sticks and Joan from Moosestash Quilting for blog hops has gotten my quilting excitement fired up. We've got a whole year of blog hops planned for you to join in or just watch for inspiration. It will be so fun for all of us and we'd love to have you play along!

What is a blog hop?

A blog hop is like being a part of a quilt guild, but not leaving your house to participate or pay fees. Participants "show and tell" their sewing and/or quilt related projects on their blogs with a related theme or challenge.

Who hosts our blog hops?

Carla from Creatin' in the Sticks, Joan from Moosestash Quilting and me, Carol from Just Let Me Quilt, take turns hosting the blog hops and themes/challenges.

What do I have to sew?

We post a challenge on our blogs and those who want to join in.

What information do you need from me to join a blog hop?

We need your name, email address, blog name, and blog URL. Your info is used for blog hops only and is not shared or sold! After we get that info, we assign a date for you to post your project.

What do I need to know about posting on my assigned day?

We give everyone plenty of time to sew something. It's important that you post your project on your day! You can preset your blog post to go live any time after 11 p.m. Mountain Standard Time. It's okay if it pops up early...that's better than being late.

If your project isn't quite done, show it anyway. People remember if you're a no show...we don't want that!

Visit the other blogs in the hop. That's where you will gain some amazing friends.

Above all, have fun and enjoy the sweet fun of a blog hop! We inspire each other with projects, tutorials, or patterns. Anyone can follow along!

Here is a list of the blog hops for the rest of the year.
Whichever one of us is hosting the blog hop is who you need to contact to sign-up.

DON'T FREAK OUT THAT YOU HAVE TO SIGN UP RIGHT THIS MINUTE!

You don't need to sign-up right now as we will announce them again about two months before each one starts. The list of blog hops is only to help your creative mind get moving with ideas. I'm okay if you want sign-up ahead of time for my blog hops.

New Blog Hops And Cackling Stitches Updates

I have played in blog hops for a long, long time, and now I love hosting and playing in them with my friend, Carla, from Creatin' in the Sticks. She never ceases to amaze me with her creativity and quilt designing! Carla has been a part of my blogging life since around 2012. We've both come a long way!

Then there's my wickedly crazy friend, Joan, from Moosestash Quilting. Joan has also been in my blogging life since 2012. She's funny and amazing with her sewing skills. I love how she makes me laugh on almost a daily basis! We host a Facebook page called "Cackling Stitches" that's totally Halloween related. It's perfect for the witchy part of us!

I am so lucky to have been able to do lots of quilt things with them for such a long time and it's not over, yet! The three of us are teaming up to share the fun of hosting blog hops and designing for our Cackling Stitches Halloween related Facebook page. Check it out to see the block of the month and spooky, creepy, and Halloween shares.

Joan, Carla, and I like to keep things relaxed and fun, because if it isn't fun why do it. But we do take our blog hops and designing seriously and love to share it with others. Coming up with challenges for all of you and us keeps the sewing mojo flowing.

The slots for our blog hops fill up fast, but we try to fit everyone in who wants to play. If you sign-up, we hope you're courtesy enough to show up on your assigned day. No one likes a no-show, but we understand life happens and do our best to understand. Comments on the posts are really welcome and appreciated because encouragement keeps us all going.

Right now we have a blog hop coming in May called "Born to be Wild" that is hosted by me. I can't wait to see the "wild" side of everyone!

Joan will be hosting the June blog hop and she's come up with a great challenge, "Fairy Tales." I love having her talent to inspire me in these blog hops! If you want to sign-up for this hop, visit Joan's blog for details HERE.

I'll be hosting July's blog hop, "It's A Guy Thing", with a challenge to make something for a guy or tomboy, or in manly-man colors of blues, grays, browns, etc. Please don't yell at me about this not being gender neutral...it's a blog hop not a political statement. If you want to play along, you can email me with your name, email address, blog name, and blog URL. If you've never done a blog hop, don't be afraid to join in. We were new at it once, too!

Carla and Joan have new challenges planned for August and September to share soon.

I'll have October to challenge your inner Halloween spirit with "Ghastly Ghouls." I think you can figure out that the challenge is anything Halloween. I can hardly contain my excitement to host this one!

Joan, Carla, and I enjoy each other and share the same love of quilting, blog hops, and designing. We're so glad to have all of you in our quilting lives, too!

Jeepers Creepers Is It Halloween Yet?

I sew a lot slower these days, but it is really a nice change. There were times I was whipping out 7-9 projects a month. Way too much! Now ...
