Wandering Camera In October

I managed to do a little Wandering Camera photo shots on a day trip to

Zion National Park in Utah. The views were spectacular!

There were so many red rocks and mountains, each changing to lighter or

darker red depending on which way we were driving. 

There was so much texture in all those rocks, too!

A few deer and mountain sheep popped up for quick glances.

A rare moment of an empty road. Zion has millions of visitors each year.

The tunnel...I was scared of this when I was a kid. It's still kind of spooky and very dark.

A few flowers were still hanging in there before the cold hits.

It was a fabulous day!

Another day was spent at Grandpa's Pond, a favorite picnic spot.

It was a perfect setting for my shark quilt. There's no sharks in this pond,

but they did remove an alligator from there last year. Apparently, someone

thought it would be a good place to drop off their overgrown pet. Yikes!

This guy came in for a close-up.

That blue eye is gorgeous!

Of course, there had to be a bug...in this case it was a bee.

Wandering Camera In September

I did a lot of wandering this month, but not to any exotic locations.

Most of the time was spent near my home or with family.

Life was good this month!

It's been a very busy time in my quilting world...lots of projects happening!

There's was rainy weather, flash flooding, and flowing rivers near

a favorite restaurant with amazing views. They have yummy breakfast treats!

Then there was less water and more hot temperatures later in the month at the same location.

Some flowers will bloom no matter how hot it is. There's joy in that!

A birthday celebration brought the family together for good times.

Even at 14 years old, he's still a little boy at heart.

This little guy kept posing for the camera, dirty face and all...I love him tons!

I remember years ago overhearing a young couple with no children observe a small child

with a very dirty face and runny nose. They said when they had children they would

NEVER allow them to have a dirty face. I still laugh at how naive they were. 

Kids almost ALWAYS have a dirty face and a runny nose and we love them anyway!

One day my sister and I happened upon this shack in our neighborhood.

We couldn't believe we'd lived here so long and never seen this!

I took my husband there to take photos of a sewing project and enjoyed

the adventure of looking around. There was no graffiti...surprise!

Adventures In Babysitting Luna The Puppy

I offered to watch the newest grandpuppy, Luna, who is about 10 months old and was just adopted 

about a week ago. Due to an unexpected trip out-of-town, she was all mine for a couple days.
It's been a very long time since I've had a puppy to take care of.

It has definitely been an adventure in babysitting!

She took me for walks and I learned that when she sees another dog her bark

sounds like the scariest dog in the world. My son says she just wants to play.

The lady didn't look like she wanted Luna to play with her dog.

Every pillow in the condo is up high because she was chewing on all of them.

I'd forgotten what it was like to have a puppy!

I bought her a chew toy hoping it would stop her from chewing on my hands and pillows.

It lasted about two minutes. The other two toys I bought didn't last very long either.

PetSmart was good about taking them back.

This one is a winner!

It sounds like a barbell when it drops on the floor and is really tough.

It's lasted a whole day, so my hopes are high for this one.

Working on my laptop has been impossible.

She was either on my head or on my lap.

To write this post I gave her a pork thingy. It lasted five minutes,

but it wore her out enough that she settled down.

I love how peaceful it is when the baby is sleeping. Whew! Maybe I can read my emails

 and take a shower now. It brings back memories of when I was a young mom.

But, I'm not a young mom and I'm worn out. I think I'll just take a nap while she's sleeping!

Wandering Camera Photos In July

Soma at Whims and Fancies has encouraged photo taking and sharing

thanks to her Wandering Camera monthly event. I take a lot of pictures of my

quilts, but other photos usually just linger on my computer. I've tried to

click a few more pictures other than quilts to share during Wandering Camera.

We had a huge rainstorm come through our town.

It flooded a few houses and caused a lot of property damage.

The clouds were very ominous looking from our backyard!

So dark!

The view from our front yard.

There was a river running along our curb.

A river (that isn't usually there) through the neighborhood and golf course.

We had company for the 4th of July...Monkey Boys and their parents.

This is a miracle photo...they were ALL looking at the camera!

My two little pups. It's so hard to get them to hold still for a picture.

I love to take bug pictures and this guy was more than willing to pose.

This bug is the enemy to our tomato plants, but he's interesting up close.

Yikes! It's an alien!
