It is always such a treat to see how creative everyone gets with the Sew It - Show It blog hop challenges. It boggles my mind how different our ideas are. From bags to quilts, you continue to inspire me every month!
The challenge:
Sew something with green or apple fabric (or a combo of both!)
Little Green Apples
Wind and clouds everyday make for rough photo sessions.
In case you're wondering (or not), I did have the song "Little Green Apples" stuck on a repeating cycle in my head. Not a bad song to have in my head, but over and over is a bit much. It has been sung by
many different people but to show my age, here is Dean Martin singing it. I loved his voice!
In reality, I don't like green apples...way too sour for me!
But this was a fun quilt to make as my answer to the "Little Green Apples" challenge.
It's green and it has apples. It's a win!

Such a darling quilt, Carol. So applicious!!!! I love to see quilts flutter in the wind.
ReplyDeleteOh what an adorable quilt! Green apples. 'Did not know that it is also a song title. Going to visit all of the other blog hoppers for today.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous quilt! The green really pops with the black and white. I've never heard that song before, although Dean Martin is just slightly before my time.
ReplyDeleteVery cute! The green and black work really well together, and the green binding is a great finishing touch!
ReplyDeleteWhat a show stopper! I love the bright and cheery design. What a great way to start off this challenge.
ReplyDeleteCarol it's beautiful! Are those letters and apples appliqued? I love the black and white check with the green - nicely done. Thank you for hosting the challenge!
ReplyDeleteCute quilt! I too had no idea there was a song called Little Green Apples.
ReplyDeleteIt's beautiful! I love how crisp (get it?) it looks with the black and white.
ReplyDeleteApplique or is the center a panel? Very cute either way!! The black and white checks really make everything pop.
ReplyDeleteThis quilt is so perfect to open the hop. Your green apples look so real and the fabrics you chose to go with them really sets them off.
ReplyDeleteI love the colors in this quilt. The black and white checkerboard is a fun border.
ReplyDeleteLove your Green Apples quilt - another stellar project. I somehow really liked them when I was younger, now prefer yellow or macintoshes!
ReplyDeleteThat's an adorable quilt - perfect for the hop. Generally, I agree, green apples are just too sour but... When I was a kid, we used to take/steal green apples to eat. My cousin, who was only18 mos when he had polio, and he loved green apples. We would pull him in the wagon and pick the wagon full of green apples - him eating as many as he could while the picking was just right.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful quilt! The colors are fantastic, and I love the apples.
ReplyDeleteAdorable quilt, I love the colors!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun quilt! And yes, the song has given me an earworm too! :-)

ReplyDeleteOh very cool!! Did you use a panel or is it applique? It's just right for this hop :) Thanks again for hosting! xx
ReplyDeleteWhat a cheerful little quilt! I love lime green. It reminds me of Spring. (I'm with you, though; I don't like to eat green apples unless they are cooked.) Enjoyed listening to Dean Martin, too.
ReplyDeleteI love your little green apples quilt and Dean Martin singing is a real blast from the past
ReplyDeleteFantastic! I love the black and white along with the green. I also love eating green apples and listening to Dean Martin!
ReplyDeleteWind is a struggle around here too, there is always wind. Love your quilt, is that a panel or applique, I don't think I read either way. Thank you for the hop, it is always fun to join in.
ReplyDeleteVery cute quilt! I like my little green apples baked into a pie. ;o)
