I think everyday should celebrate moms, but I guess here in the U.S. we have to settle for that one special day. This year is lands on Sunday, May 9th. I've shared how to make this wall hanging over on the ThermOWeb blog today. Checked it out!
It Is Mom's Day
It's made entirely with a layer cake/10" x 10" squares, including the back and binding.
I bought a layer cake, Felicity Fabrics by The Tiny Garden, Dotty Flora Licorice, during Sew Yeah's online Destash. It's on YouTube on Tuesday's and Wednesday with the three brothers running the show. It's so fun!
It was perfect for this wall hanging!
Hanging tabs on the back.
You can find the PDF for "It Is Mom's Day" HERE.

Pretty Dresden "mom" flower! I want to do something like that with ties later this year. Thinking about Christmas ties, if I have enough of them... We'll see. I like that you exclusively used the layer cake, making good use of it!
ReplyDeleteThis little Dresden hanging is a sweet nod to Moms. I like the colors. This is a fun use for a layer cake stack using it for the front, the back, the design and the binding. Great inspiration.
ReplyDeleteThat happy flower would make any mom feel special year round. I need to watch that Destash YouTube. That sounds like fun.
ReplyDeleteVery nice mom wall hanging and suggestions to use layer cake.
ReplyDeleteHave you opened the Fairytale blog hop yet? I am interested.
