A Gazillion Little Pieces Of Appliqued Fabric

I'm taking a two day class that involves a gazillion little pieces of appliqued fabrics.
Not that I EVER exaggerate or anything, but really and truly there are LOTS of pieces going on here.

This isn't even a fourth of all the pieces...yikes! What did I get myself into!

Dave's Bernina has Margie Ullery from Ribbon Candy Quilting doing this class...fun!
She teaches a class on Craftsy HERE.

There were three projects to make over two days. I'm heading back for the second project today,
but the first two projects aren't even close to being done. Yikes! So many pieces, but so cute!
Plus, Margie is hilarious and so fun to have teach us a few of her tricks.
She gave us a mini trunk show of some of her popular Skinnies and quilts. Wow!

I only managed to make four of these panels for this project.
AND they still need to be stitched...oh, my, goodness...and sew blocks together, bind, etc., etc., etc.
What the heck! I'm usually faster than this!

I won one of her cute books of Skinnies...too cute! Plus, I MIGHT have bought a book (okay, I did!)

I'm off now to applique cute owls and hundreds of leaves. Lots and lots of leaves.

Crazy, but fun!

  1. I took a reverse applique class. I didn't purchase a book. I didn't have to do a bazillion tiny pieces thank goodness, but I am getting braver and considering dipping my toe into the waters.

  3. Rosemary B here;
you are wading in uncharted territory here, missy. This looks exciting. I am starting to get interested.
I read several amazing online tutorials, and even thinking about starting out on something tiny teeny weenie (like a lady bug or even a gnat)
and see it the mood stirs my deepest inner neatness tiny stitches spirit.
Mean time, enjoy this. I am sure it will be super fun

  4. That is a gazillion pieces! But I love what you've done with them. It's Looking great. I also took a class with Pat Sloan on Friday so know first hand what you mean about other peoples' fabric selections. Wish I'd done several of them instead of the Irish themed thing I was working on. Love those owl quilts of her design too.

  6. I love Ribbon Candy Patterns. I have the book and most of the patterns. Sadly, collecting the patterns is as far as I have gotton. I love applique and love both of the quilts you are making. The owls are adorable and so are all the little bees. Can't wait to see it finished. So glad you had a good time.
