It's A Flowery Day For Me And You!

Today is MY day to show you what I made with flowers.

I love those felt pillows that are so popular, but I didn't have any felt, so
I improvised and used some red fabric and Comma fabric to create this pillow.
It was so easy to make after checking out a few tutorials online.
Even my kids liked it so I will definitely be making more!

I had fun making this quilt with some Charisma fabric I've been holding on to
(I still have LOTS more), which started with a pattern by Sunset Crochet and Quilt
called 3-D Flowers Quilt. It was an easy quilt with great instructions, but I did different
flowers because I'd already started making some and didn't want to remake more.
(I do tend to veer off from pattern instructions, anyway.)
I used the vintage buttons I found on my little outing last week.

I tried a new way to add binding and loved this method, mainly because I'm
not great at hand sewing binding on and this way is done totally by machine!
I found it HERE.

If you're interested, here's how I made the flowers...if not, scroll on down to
see who else is hopping and see the GIVEAWAY.

I love these templates for cutting different sizes. Yes, I do have an Accuquilt, Big Shot,
AND a Vagabond to cut out shapes, but of course, none of them were the exact size I needed.
Start by cutting six circles out of your fabric for each flower...I made 5 1/2 inch circles.
(I love those little clips for keeping them all together.)
Fold one circle in half and baste on the raw edge
(it doesn't have to be perfect.)
When you reach the end, pull up the gathers and start on the next folded
circle using the same string of thread to connect them together.
Keep going with the other circles.
When you finish the sixth petal, pull them tight and
stitch the first petal to the last petal to make the flower.
They are so EASY you could make a garden full of them!

Oooo....a giveaway, too!

Cherry from Cherry's Prairie Primitives makes such cute little dogs (and lots of other things),
so I bought one just for this occasion--she added that flower for me...too cute...and it could
be YOURS if you win! There will be a some mystery fat quarters thrown in the package, too.

Thanks for stopping by to visit!
