It's Me Seeing You In September

After a long, long, long break from blog hopping, it's time for my day of
SEE YOU IN SEPTEMBER!

Project #1

With the big scare of losing some of our favorite gingham, we had to include gingham in one
of our projects just to show Riley Blake that we LOVE their gingham!
I used Riley Blake's aqua color gingham and dots to make this ruffled chevron quilt.

While I was looking for a good spot at the park to take a picture, a mom and her two kids
volunteered to help hold up the quilt. They didn't even know me, but they were so nice!

I love how willing this boy was to help...his little sister was adorable, too!

I added a little ric rac above the ruffle and straight stitched a gazillion rows to quilt it.

Project #2

While going through all my stash I found a huge section of Moda Turnovers that I'd sewn
together long, long ago. I added a couple borders, straight stitch quilted it, and got the binding on.
It's a perfect size to hide under while watching my favorite TV series "The Walking Dead."

Bella thinks I made it for her.

Project #3

I saw a quilt on the wall at Quilted Works and just knew I HAD to make it.
It is called Front Porch by Jan Patek, but mine does not look exactly like hers.
(I have a problem following directions, so mine is just a tad different.)

The Other Front Porch Quilt

Here's my hubby braving a 12-foot drop to CONCRETE just to hang my quilt for a photo.
He was wearing flip flops while crawling across boulders to secure the quilt, so I might have
gasped a few times when he almost slipped. I envisioned a trip to the emergency room or worse!

With his work done, he waited patiently for me to take the photos. What a guy!

I've never made a quilt with this many applique pieces...there were 1000's of pieces I'm sure!
The size is about 74" x 98" and almost all the fabrics were from my stash.

Quilted Works did their usual amazing job of quilting it with stars and swirls. Love it!

Project #2 Completed...Photo Shoot Time!

Luckily, I'm two down, one to go with my three projects for See You in September.
Project #1...completed and photos taken.
Project #2...completed and time for photos!

I can't show the project, but I can show the small adventure my hubby and I went on to get the photos.
We got up early and headed to a spot not too far from our house.
It was gorgeous and alive with the sounds of the desert.

We saw this lizard getting a little sun.

He/she began to look a little annoyed at me! I love the look he/she gave me.

These flowers were everywhere and totally dressed the desert up with their beauty.

I didn't wait around to see who or what might pop out of this hole. It could be a SNAKE!

This is the hubby going to great heights and risk-of-falling just for me to get a great shot of my quilt.
Really, I held my breath a few times and envisioned a trip to the ER (he just laughed at my worries.)
The explanation to the doctor might sound a little lame if the doc doesn't blog and quilt.
"He fell over the edge while climbing up high and over big rocks to help me take a picture of my quilt."
Sounds perfectly normal to me, but the doc might not think so!
Luckily, he exited the scene without a scratch or bump on the head. Whew!

Project #3 is getting close to being done. Just a few more weeks until...

A Little Rush Of Fabric

I received some Rush Hour fabric that I ordered from Pink Castle Fabrics.
Great service and it got here quick...sweet!
I've bought a little red Rush Hour fabric from Sew Today LLC, an Etsy store.
They've already shipped it...fast!
It's slowly making it's way into more online stores...yay!

Here's another store to find Rush Hour (thanks Pat!):

The fabric is really nice and just begging to be sewn into something for the Rush Hour hop.

You can still sign up for this hop and you don't have to use the Rush Hour fabric to participate.
You just have to make something using red, white, black, and/or gray.
See You In September is coming up quick and I've been busy, busy, busy getting ready!

What was I thinking when I decided how I'd quilt project #2!
Machine quilting that's a half inch apart?
Yikes!
I hope I can finish this thing on time!

What's Black and White and Red All Over?

The Rush Hour Blog Hop, of course!
I just love the combination of black, red, white, and gray!

My lovely lady was made of red, white, and black and she looks to be in a bit of a rush, doesn't she!

My picnic quilt was red and white with black ants all over.

My Tammy bag could have been part of the Rush Hour hop, too.

You don't have to use the Studio E Rush Hour fabric to play along, just make sure the project you create includes black, red, white, and gray. Easy, right! Come on, you know you want to join in!

Rush over to Sew We Quilt for all the big details about joining this hop...HERE.

Be sure to send me an email if you want to play along.

See You In September still has a few openings, too, so rush on over to
Shari's blog, Living With Purpose, for info on signing up.

I've almost finished project #1 for See You In September...whoohoo!

What's Up For September

Sew We Quilt is having a little blog hop break, but that doesn't mean I'm not busy sewing.
Quite the opposite!
I have 3 projects to make for the next blog hop in September!

I've started sewing two of them, but of course I can't show them yet
so occasional snippets all summer will have to do.

I think I'm in over my head with this one.
It has a gazillion applique pieces and since I'm pattern challenged,
I'm...well...a little whole lot challenged with this one.
It's not an easy pattern to follow (it can't possibly be me!)
Hopefully, I can get it together by September or it won't be seeing you.

The...
ends on July 8th. Look who's been hopping!
