I Like Thursday Post #4

It's another "I Like Thursdays" with LeeAnna at Not Afraid of Color.
Last week was a busy Thursday, so I missed out on posting.

It's been a busy time because we spent two weeks out-of-town.
There were a lot of likes happening!

I like birthdays...
Birthday celebration of Monkey Boy #4. He turned seven...where has the time gone!
His mom made his cake just how he wanted it.
We also celebrated birthdays for Monkey Boy #2 and the Monkey Boy's mom.

I like seeing old friends...
We went to our friend's funeral. It was bittersweet because we got to see so many long time
friends, but such a broken heart to have him be gone. It was like a family reunion to be together
with all of our friends. We grew up with most of them while raising our families.
The good news out of it was the planning of a reunion in April. It will be so sweet!

I like family adventures...
Ethel M's in Las Vegas has a beautiful Christmas light show every year.
We've missed it for several years, but made it happen this month.
It wasn't as freezing as it usually is, so it was really enjoyable to walk around.

I like my big sewing machine to not be broken...
I did some sewing while I was gone, but my big machine was still broken so it was hard to quilt
the bigger quilts I needed done. We got home today and picked up my sweet machine as we
headed to our house.  I did a very happy dance as I placed it in it's spot in my sewing room.

My poor sewing room is a disaster from trying to hurry and finish things before I left town
and then dumping everything in there when I came home. Wowzers!
This is awful and needs a good organization and clean up to happen!

I like traditions...
We got together for our traditional gingerbread house decorating.
Yes, there were dinosaurs!

I like pincushions I don't make...
I came home to two cute pincushions from Beaquilter's pincushion exchange.

I like airbags more than ever now...
My daughter got in an accident and every one of the airbags went off.
She had a slight concussion and some soreness, but she was lucky!

I like concerts watching the Monkey Boys...

Monkey Boy #2 plays the cello. He's right there in the middle on the edge.

Monkey Boy #4 was mixed in among tons of other kids to sing Christmas songs.

I like pizza and I'm glad Monkey Baby does too...

I like blog hops...
This week is my Virtual Cookie Exchange that's full of recipes and
Christmas projects. Check it out if you get a chance!

There were a lot more likes during the last couple weeks, but I'll go for now.

Thanks for stopping by!

I Like Thursday Post #3

It's another "I Like Thursdays" with Not Afraid of Color...#3!
You really should check out all the "likes" and maybe join in yourself.

With my new phone (another like), it's been much more fun using it for photos
because the pictures turn out way better than my old phone. It's also a fun and
easier way to take pictures for "I Like Thursday.

My likes...

Hanging out with two Monkey Boys during the oldest ones Eagle Project.

His younger brother was a big help.

I really appreciated bleach in a bottle, especially when the four year old
Monkey Boy was throwing up at our condo...three times!

I like Oreos...obviously!

I fell in love with this dog from Benartex's "Dog On It' fabric.

I'm happy my husband likes unusual art like I do.
Picked this up at an Oktoberfest event. It's about 24" high...love it!

Creepy Bunny stays out all year and I like that he watches over what I'm sewing.
Too bad he can't stop me from making mistakes.

My retreat sewing machine is well liked this week, especially with my other
one breaking on me. It's a good little machine, but I miss the big lady!

This isn't really a like, but it is. He was a friend that had a heart of gold
and made us all laugh with his amazing sense of humor. He left this week
to make the angels laugh. I like that his photo shows him cracking up
because he was doing that a lot or making us do it. Bye, sweet friend!

Bella uses that paw to scratch at the couch to let me know she needs attention.
I'm surprised it doesn't have a hole because she needs a lot of loving!
I like her sweet face.

Thanks, LeeAnna, for helping me to look for the daily good things in life.

I Like Thursdays Post #2

This is sort of post #2 for I Like Thursdays, because my first post was really on Friday.
Not Afraid of Color started "I Like Thursdays" and I've been enjoying reading all the likes
on other bloggers posts. Lots of fun things out there to learn about them!

I like my little old dog, Bruster, and how he jumps on my lap and pushes my iPad away.
He loves to snuggle!

I like finding good deals at Target like this already assembled gingerbread house.
No more broken houses...hopefully!

I like when I can use some of my stash for applique, which I love.
This is for a sew along happening pretty soon at Therm O Web.

I like when my husband jumps in to create a useful sewing thing for me.
He saw all my thread and made a pegboard for me.

I like blog hops. Actually, I love blog hops and how much fun I have with them.
These little bags were in my post this week for a blog hop.
They are really small, which was my plan. Smaller gifts this year for famly!

I like looking at old photos of me and remembering the moments.
This one was taken in Hawaii in 1971...a long, long, time ago.

I like that my poor husband was good about taking a photo of me that I needed for something.
I DON'T like having my pictures taken, so it wasn't easy for him. Ugh!

Finally, I like that others share their likes so I can get to know them.

Friday Likes Because I Missed Thursday Likes

Thursday in blog world is such a pleasure because of postings of "likes" by so many people.
Leeann at Not Afraid of Color started a series called "I Like Thursdays" that has bloggers
sharing all kinds of likes...fabric, flowers, pets, grandchildren, etc. Have you seen these posts?
Reading them makes me relax and enjoy the positive things in life.

Though I may not always comment (yes, I am just a stalker sometimes), I love the posts.
In my mind, I always think "next Thursday I'm going to post things I like." I just can't seem to
get it together to do it. Maybe I need to set an alarm on Wednesday to remind me.
I'd probably forget to set the alarm.

I missed Thursday (of course) so here's a late I like Thursdays on Friday list.

I like that my daughter takes me on some of her adventures (she takes a lot of them.)
She found a cave, but since she was alone at the time she wouldn't go in.
Her dad and I were more than willing to go with her to check it out.

It was actually no big deal and didn't go anywhere except a small cavern inside.
The graffiti and litter were disgusting. What's wrong with people!

If it can be climbed, she will climb it. She's over 40, but you wouldn't know it by all the
adventurous things she does. I wish I'd been more like her at that age.

I like that Ron can be just as adventurous at his "young age."

I like that my family loves Halloween as much as I do.
My adventurous daughter doctored up the family pic for Halloween.

I like that my youngest daughter makes sure she dresses her family appropriately for Halloween.
Villains and superheroes rock!

I like this Monkey Boy's pose and that he always makes us smile.

I like that my daughter took me on this adventure to a petting zoo near Zion.

This Monkey Boy liked it too!

I like when I run into random flowers in a mess of weeds.

I like when these two cuties come to visit and make me laugh.
We were at Chuck-A-Rama, one of their favorite eating places.

I love new toys. This Crafter's Edge Crossover has been fun to play with!

Thanks for stopping by to see my likes. Hopefully, I'll remember to do it again.

Jeepers Creepers Is It Halloween Yet?

I sew a lot slower these days, but it is really a nice change. There were times I was whipping out 7-9 projects a month. Way too much! Now ...
