Cackling Stitches "Hagatha's House" BOM Begins

Today is the day we start "Hagatha's House" BOM and we are so excited! Joan (Moosestash Quilting) and I are both crazy about Halloween and have a Facebook group, Cackling Stitches, dedicated to our wicked passion for all things spooky. We'd love to have you join the fun!

Joan's version of Hagatha's House

It's amazing how different fabrics can make a quilt unique. I used Moda Grunge while Joan used batiks.

Here's how "Hagatha's House" BOM works at our Facebook Cackling Stitches group:

The BOM will run from March 1st to September 1st.

On the 1st day of each month we will release block patterns that will be free until the next block(s) is released.

Once new blocks are released, the previous month's blocks will no longer be free. They will be available in our Etsy stores at a cost of $2 for each month's worth of blocks.

On October 1st the entire pattern will be combined and sold in our Etsy stores for $10.

We hope you appreciate the time we put into creating the BOM quilt and understand that we are keeping the costs to a minimum. If you're quick to get the patterns during the month they are free, there will be no cost to you.

You can find the supply list HERE if you want to join along with the rest of us wickedly crazy Halloween lovers.

March Block - Hagatha's House by Joan Kawano

You can find it free
HERE during the month of March. Joan used reverse applique on this block and created a great tutorial on how to do it HERE.

I have to tell you, I had never done reverse applique before so it was a challenge for me. I survived, but learned a lot of do this, don't do that kind of things. Her tutorial really helped! I also did two of the same tree (one isn't reversed) so it's really a unique quilt! There's no quilt police allowed in our group, just so you know!

You can tell that the quilt has a lot of applique going on and it's so much easier with Heat n Bond Lite EZ Print Sheets*. I run the sheets through my inkjet printer...no tracing! Plus, the backing peels off without having to score it with a pin. I love that! *Affiliate link

I hope you'll join us at Cackling Stitches (even if you don't do the BOM.) We often share free Halloween patterns and others share what they've made. It's a wickedly fun time with all of those who've joined in!

Such a cute center! These are going to be great. Thanks for block one. I'm a member of the group, but on my son's FB, and he keeps changing his password every time he can't remember it. LOL
