Lots Of Snowing In The Desert

It snowed and snowed and snowed all day. Literally all day...like more than 10 hours straight.
This may not seem like a big deal to some of you who have LOTS of snow,
but this is the desert and the few times it does snow it melts pretty fast.

This white stuff is sticking around!

Even my new angel is loving this snow!

With so much snow and icy streets, I stayed in and sewed all day.
I practiced a little with my embroidery module and used it to do some machine quilting.
Oh my gosh, it was so fun! Can't show it all, but here's a little peek at my Kona project:

Purple, of course!

Are you busy sewing Christmas gifts and/or baking?

P.S. If you see snow floating down in my photo above,
do not ask me how I did it. I have no idea...it just appeared there! LOL!

  1. Snow means sewing. Love your little rustic angel. I am waiting for some coordinating fabric for my Kona project, but all the snow and cold has delayed it a week. The purple and the quilting on yours is beautiful. Looking forward to seeing the whole project. ;)

  2. Sewing while the flakes are falling is the best kind of day! Enjoy it while it lasts!

  3. You have more snow in the desert, that we have in the south of Sweden. It started to snow this morning, but now it is raining. No weather to enjoy at all, but I could always sew. Received my fabric from US this week, so I could start the next challenge.

  4. That's a lot of snow for the desert. Where do you live? I'm in west Texas in the Chihuahuan Desert. It's really cold here lately but no snow so far. I think I'll go sew also.

  6. I love the desert under a blanket of snow. Our S. AZ mountains are snow capped but none fell closer to home... maybe later. Beautiful pictures.

  7. We had a bit more snow a couple of days ago, but it's just been cold and windy here. Only a bit of snow left on the ground. I like your snowy picture of the yucca with the snow falling!

  9. It's a great excuse to take needle in hand. Who could blame you?
We're sitting at 25 degrees colder than we should at this time of year!
That purple is a lovely shade and I'm waiting to see what you're up to.

  10. Oh Carol! The snow is so pretty! I will gladly trade you some rain for the snow. It has rained and rained here every day for a while now. I live in Georgia and we only get a little snow each year. And it melts very fast. Sometimes we will get enough to build a snowmsn, but not often. I really love the snow. I wouldn't mind having a good snowfall about Christmas time. Have a great week!

  12. Your snow pictures are beautiful, but keep the snow out west please. So far only a dusting of snow here today. Me thinks you have a little elf or maybe a little angel that added the falling snow to your first picture. ; ) The little angel is adorable.
