Riley Blake Designs Buttermilk Basics Blog Tour

Riley Blake Designs Buttermilk Basics are a perfect combination of colors and designs.
This fabric line is by Stacy West of Buttermilk Basin Design Co. and is perfect for quilts,
apparel, or home decor. They are 100 per cent cotton and are so soft and beautiful!

I loved how the fabrics looked in my quilt!

"Courage"
50" x 50"

Photos were taken in Hurricane, Utah, at the Hurricane Pioneer Museum

I used all the fabric I had by piecing the back.

Look at all these lovely fabrics in Buttermilk Basics!

I used five fabrics from Buttermilk Basics to create my quilt.

Buttermilk Basics Blocks Navy

Buttermilk Basics Diamonds Green

Buttermilk Basics Diamonds Yellow

Buttermilk Basics Fading Stars Red

Buttermilk Basics Morse Code Red

There are some adorable panels available that go with Buttermilk Basics, too!

I also used some of my favorite products to put "Courage" together.
Aurifil Thread, 40 wt., 2020, 2000, and nylon thread

To Say "Thank You" Takes Less Than A Minute

I posted this on my Facebook page today and have loved all the responses.
Thought I'd share it with you.

"Several years ago I read a blog post about people not saying “thank you” to a designer for
free patterns they received. At that time I hadn’t designed any patterns to share for free or to
sell, but it made me more conscious about letting people know I appreciated their pattern.

Though it can take less than a minute to download a free pattern, it can take the designer
several hours, days, or weeks to create, test, and finish a pattern. Yes, we sometimes make
mistakes, but we don’t do it on purpose. I’m always shocked when I see someone’s rude
comment calling out a designer for their mistake or telling them they didn’t like the design.
It’s okay not to say anything if you don’t like it.

Now that I often share free blocks or quilt patterns, I totally appreciate the “thank you’s”
I receive for them. Seriously, I love it!

So I’m asking you to just take a minute to say “thank you” to the designer that gave you a
free block or quilt pattern. I promise you it will make their day and you’ll feel good, too."

Negative comments are a rarity among the quilter's world and I'm so glad for that.

I Like Thursday With LeeAnna At Not Afraid Of Color

I'm definitely not very good at this, because I miss a lot of Thursdays. LeeAnna at
Not Afraid of Color has assured me it's okay, which is good, especially since I'm really
pushing it to not miss this Thursday. I actually love this idea of LeeAnna!

There was Christmas in Las Vegas with the family.

We love to play the plastic wrap ball on Christmas Eve.
Money, candy, and toys are wrapped up in this nine pound ball of fun.

Monkey Baby wasn't liking that it wasn't his turn.

Always Starbucks with my oldest daughter and Monkey Boys...it's a tradition.

This was an entertaining gift...lol!

They light up when you shake them...he love them!

We got Monkey Boy number 2 a guitar.
He loved it!

Always a mess, but a good mess

I like being there for birthdays!

I ordered more of these labels for my quilts.
They are easy and slip into the binding on the back of the quilt.
I order them from Inked Papers Etsy store.

I like that Britt-Inger thought I should be in her Swedish quilt newsletter.
I thought the whole newsletter was beautiful!

Britt-Inger gave me this years ago and I like that I have this memory.
It's so sweet and sits out every Christmas.

I like that I had room to drag my sewing things into the living room
so that I could clean and organize my sewing room.
I don't like all the work, though!

Thanks for stopping by!
