Dino Danger In Glow-O-Saurus Precuts

With three choices of Benartex Glow-O-Saurus by Kansas Studios precuts to work with, I struggled to choose which one to use. I ended up using the Strip-Pies and a few fat quarters for "Dino Danger." They really do glow in the dark...so fun! I can't wait to use those 10"x10" precuts!

46" x 58"

The T-Rex likes how easy those Strip-Pies are for 2" borders.
The 2-1/2" strips were easy to cut into 4-1/2" rectangles for the outer border, too.
Fat quarters are great for longer borders.

Doesn't he look fabulous in Benartex's New Hue Apple Green!

The fabric behind the Pterandon, T-Rex, and Brontosaurus is Glow-O-Saurus Scenic Multi.
It was perfect for the background.
The fabrics in the dinosaurs were New Hue orange and marigold.

The brontosaurus is hiding out from those scary dinos around him.
He doesn't want to end up a pile of bones!

The Superior Solids Black and New Hue Marigold make great danger warning arrows.

I love that Benartex has 108" fabrics!
The back on this quilt is Swirling Splendor blue.
You can find several of the Benartex wide fabrics at Backside Fabrics.

You can find the pattern for "Dino Danger" in my Etsy Store HERE.

Our new rescue dog, Charlie, is loving his new life. As long as he's close to me, he's happy!

Check out the Virtual Fabric Show!
Some of your favorite fabric designers and Benartex Ambassadors will be chatting about
their fabrics and quilt designs. if you look close, you'll see that I will be there, too.

Steampunk Meets Benartex Tote Bag

Most of you who join in our blog hops know that I love almost any kind of challenge with fabric, so when Benartex asked their ambassadors to get creative with their logo and tote bag, I jumped right in.

I have a "thing" about unusual things, including Steampunk. It seemed perfectly natural to Steampunk that logo...yes, it did!

Can you see their logo?

Solid fabrics give me a lot of freedom to be creative with my applique designs.
Using the Benartex "New Hue" by Kanvas Studios for this tote opened up a gazillion possibilities!
Gorgeous colors!

This seemed like a perfect "prop" for a Steampunk tote bag.
It's from the Hoover Dam construction and can be found Boulder City, Nevada.

Check out the other ambassadors' totes on the Benartex blog, Create, Inspire, Delight!

Benartex Fabrics Announces 2023 Ambassadors

Guess who is one of those ambassadors...me! I am so excited and one lucky lady. To be involved with a really amazing fabric company and designers is going to be an incredible experience for me. I keep thinking there was a mistake and I'm just dreaming! Nope. It's real...yay!

I had to send them a photo of myself. Because I avoid the camera whenever possible, I had Ron take a more current pic of me. It was torture, but this is the result.

I had to send in a bio, too:

Carol Swift grew up in Las Vegas, Nevada, where she learned to sew by watching her mother make clothes and quilts. As a young wife and mother, Carol sewed clothes for herself and four children. As her skills improved, she began sewing prom and wedding dresses for family and friends. She eventually moved more towards creating quilts and started a blog in 2008, Just Let Me Quilt, to keep track of them. This evolved into her hosting blog hops and sewing projects for several fabric companies. She enjoys designing quilts, especially Halloween ones, and teaches applique classes at a local quilt store. Carol and two of her friends share a Halloween Facebook page, Cackling Stitches, where they host block of the month projects. Ron, her husband of 50 years, is a huge supporter of her quilting adventures and willingly stands in unusual or high places to hold quilts for photos

This is the list of ambassadors...wow!
I've been following some of them for years and never grow tired of their talent with fabric.

Lisa Ruble of Quilty Zest
Nancy Scott of Masterpiece Quilting
Charisma Horton of Charisma's Corner
Jen Shaffer of Patterns by Jen
Carol Swift of Just Let Me Quilt
Olesya Lebedenko of Olesya L. Design
Nancy Messuri of Nancy Messuri Designs
Michele Crawford of Flower Box Quilts
Marie Segares of Underground Crafter
Robin Koehler of Nestlings by Robin
Brianna Roberts of Sew Cute and Quirky

One of the first times I sewed for Benartex was in 2017 and it was for a blog hop. It was the cutest fabrics by Cherry Guidry of Cherry Blossoms Quilting called "My Little Sunshine."

It all starts happening in 2023...I can't wait!
Check out the other ambassadors and see their gorgeous projects using Benartex Fabrics.

Jeepers Creepers Is It Halloween Yet?

I sew a lot slower these days, but it is really a nice change. There were times I was whipping out 7-9 projects a month. Way too much! Now ...
