A Sanctuary And Friendship Quilt

About a month ago a friend of mine asked me if I wanted to be a part of
a friendship quilt for a special friend of ours. I said, "YES" of course!
After a few emails back and forth, we came up with a design and fabric.

We wanted our friend to be able to snuggle up in this quilt and try to get her mind off
some of the yucky and troubling stuff going on with her. I had some fabric
by Moda called "Sanctuary" that was perfect both in design and its name.

(The day was a little cloudy, so the photos don't quite show how bright and cheery it is.)

It was quilted by her friend, Linda...she did an amazing job!

Linda quilted each of our names on the inside border...I love this idea!
See, there's my name...

...and Paula

...and Susan

...and Bernice

...and Vickie

We were all so excited to make this for our friend and actually had it totally put together
in less than a month...quilting included! I love all these ladies and admire their quilting skills.
Susan even made a matching pillow case to store the quilt in...what a woman!

They all got together and gave it to our friend on Wednesday (I wasn't in town, darn!)
I heard it was well loved and well deserved.
