Paper Pieced Valentine Heart Treat Bag And Bean Bag

Designing a Valentine treat bag that doesn’t have lace and flowers can be a challenge. I have
six Monkey Boys and a few grand nieces who’ve let me know they don’t like lace or flowers
on anything of theirs. These little paper pieced Valentine hearts were perfect for them!

A back pocket to hold gift cards, money, or candy will give them a smile for sure.

I made them into bean bags which will definitely thrill the boys because they
love to throw things. Giving them a container to toss them in will help to avoid having
them thrown at each other. Should they end up hitting one of their brothers with the
bean bag, making a bag with rice instead of beans for the freezer will soothe any
Monkey Boy who ends up crying over a bean bag hit. Of course, don't overfill them
with beans and they won't hurt anyone.

Making the paper pieced heart was easy using Stitch n Sew EZ Quilt Block Sheets. All you have
to do is print the pattern onto Stitch n Sew EZ Print Quilt Block Sheets using an inkjet printer.
The sheets are 100% polyester, transparent, easy to print and tear, and they are washable.

My favorite paper piecing tools:
Stitch n Sew EZ Quilt Block Sheets, 1/4" ruler, Aurifil thread, rotary cutter,
small iron or roller, and my bookmark from Britt-Inger. You can use a piece of
cardboard, but using that bookmark reminds me of my blog friend when I use it.

I used Heat n Bond Ultrahold Adhesive, No-Sew so I didn't have to sew the applique in place.

I'm on the Therm O Web blog today showing this project...check it out!
