It's Time For The See Ya Later Alligator Blog Hop

I think Carla at Creatin' in the Sticks planned this blog hop just for me, because my suitcase has travelled across the country twice in the last few months. That's what happens when the grandkids move far away!

I decided it was time to use up more of my batiks to make a small travel quilt. The batik stash is getting smaller...yay!

Later Gator, 50" x 56"

Is it a see-ya-later alligator or an after-while-crocodile?

The colors of my suitcases aren't this pretty.

I got to see Mount Rushmore and Crazy Horse monuments on the second trip to Ohio.

I stood on a corner in Winslow, Arizona. It was hot, so please ignore the nonsmiling face.

There were lots of storms to drive through. Pretty, but scary!

A ginormous quilt at the Air Force Museum and my favorite people.

Lots of pretty scenery in Ohio.

This sweet little Monkey Girl was worth the long drive.

Now it's time to visit some fabulous "See Ya Later Alligator" projects!

Monday, August 22nd

Tuesday, August 23rd

Wednesday, August 24th

Thursday, August 25th

Thanks for stopping by...see ya later alligator!

  3. I love your quilt Carol. Wouldn't those fun suitcases be so easy to find on the carousel! Lovely photos (and memories) from your trips to Ohio.

  4. Great quilt Carol! You are indeed a traveller. Families are so special, and the sights and sounds attendant while travelling are the the extra little cookies on the plate.

  6. I love your travel quilt, Carol, but the best part is seeing the photo of your monkey boys and girl! We stood on that corner in Winslow a few (several?) years ago too--fun for those of us who love Eagles and Jackson Brown! Glad you got to see all of those sights, but it's a long, grueling trip, isn't it? Thanks for sharing!

  7. Carol you have such a wonderfully creative imagination. Just love your quilt and the photos of your trip. Perfect together. Little Monkey girl is getting so big and is as cute as a button.

  8. That gator quilt is just so adorable! All that color! What a happy traveler’s conveyor of luggage it would be if everyone’s suitcases were like these on your quilt. LOL. I don’t see much progress made on Crazy Horse since my trip to Sturgis in 2006. I’ve driven through many a storm looking like that in my travels back and forth across the country. They ARE scary and beautiful too (before and after you’ve survived them).

  9. Oh my goodness, your suitcases look fabulous and I love them traveling on that jazzy alligator. Road trips are the best way to see the USA, andI know the end of that road leads you to that sweet baby girl and her monkey brothers. Nothing better than a trip to see them.

Perfect for the blog plus it fits right into your life. Your alligator was darling but I loved the bird at the top lots.
