I finally finished the reindeer quilt using that adorable little guy created by Lorna at
Sew Fresh Quilts. The reindeer were pretty easy, but for some reason I totally messed up the borders
(one was wavy...ugh!) and I had to do a lot of ripping. Then I accidently cut one of the borders in a
wrong place and had to do some rearranging. What the heck was going on with this quilt!
I was beginning to think Santa had it out for me and I was on the Naughty List or something.
Then it was cloudy, rainy, and dark outside...indoor photo time!
The quilt measures about 45" x 47" and has machine embroidery lettering.
Plus...
Rudolph definitely has a shiny nose.
I used a little of Therm O Web's red Deco Foil to make that happen.
I even washed it and his nose is still shining! Love it!
What a great quilt! Love seeing Rudolph in the mix. Well done!
ReplyDeleteGlad you persevered with all of the set backs...that's when it gets put in my UFO pile and never gets finished. Such a cute quilt and happy to hear that Rudolph's nose is still shiny and will happily guide Santa!
ReplyDeleteThat is just gorgeous. Isn't it funny how some quilts will just be naughty all the time you're making it. It was well worth persevering though I think. Mind you, if you don't like it after all the trouble it caused you, I would be prepared to give it a home for you!
ReplyDeleteGreat job!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, I love this quilt! I'm thinking this has so many pieces to cut, piece, sew, stitch.....I don't think I have ever seen a quilt with all the reindeer names. This is a treasure quilt for sure.
ReplyDeletevery fun
ReplyDeleteDid you embroider the words and reindeer names? This is a pretty cute quilt. None of your struggles are showing here. All your reindeer are on their best behavior for their day to show off your quilting skills.
ReplyDeleteThat turned out gorgeous! Love your Christmas Quilt.
ReplyDeleteSew dang cute, Carol! Happy Holidays!

ReplyDeleteOh Carol.....that looks so cute. That will be a treasure to hang each year.
ReplyDeleteThis looks great...but where's Olive? lol! Really like the fabric choices :) I have had friendly borders sometimes too and have tried to "quilt it out...never works, good choice to just fix it!!
ReplyDeleteThis is so cute Carol and Lorna does have the neatest patterns!!
