The Coolest and Prettiest Hippos In The Pond

It seems like there's always got to be a cool or pretty one in a group and these two hippos
are just that. Blend Fabrics "Congo Hippos" make these two hippos stand out from the rest
of the hippos in the pond. You'll love this fabric designed by Katy Tanis. It's 100 per cent
cotton  and perfect for quilts, clothing, or home decor...like pillows!

"The Coolest Hippo in the Pond" sports a dapper hat and hip glasses,
so of course he's admired by the other hippos in the neighborhood.

The Prettiest Hippo in the Pond" doesn't act like she thinks the cool guy is
all that great, but she secretly adores him!

I always use Heat n Bond Lite, Iron-on Adhesive for all my applique projects.

You can find PDF downloadable patterns for "The Coolest Hippo in the Pond" and "The Prettiest Hippo in the Pond" HERE and HERE.

Christmas Snow Puppy Quilt Or Wallhanging Using Snowlandia Fabric

Being a little ahead of the Christmas sewing rush is always a great feeling…I love it!
I'm over at on the Therm O Web blog today sharing Christmas Snow Puppy...check it out!
While you're there, look around at all the other amazing creations in fabric and paper.

Christmas Snow Puppy
Finished size: 40" x 40"

I loved using Blend Fabrics Snowlandia designs by Maude Asbury for Christmas Snow Puppy.
The fabrics will look adorable in any sewing project!

Lots of dogs AND cats having some winter fun.

Stitch n Sew Fleece Sew-in High Loft is just the right weight keep those fur babies
warm and comfortable, and using Therm O Web Spray n Bond Basting Adhesive to
layer the fabric and batting together made it so easy to quilt.

I like to use this method for assembling small quilts: Protect the area where you will be
working by placing an old sheet or paper under and around  the area you’ll be spraying.
Place the fleece/batting on your working surface. Using the Spray N Bond Adhesive,
spray about 6-8 inches across the top portion of the fleece/batting from one edge to the
other. Place the wrong side of quilt backing face down  over the sprayed surface of batting.

Smooth fabric to ensure it adheres to the sprayed fabric. Continue this method of spraying
and smoothing just 6-8 inches at a time  until you reach the bottom of the quilt back. Check
for creases or folds. Turn over to have fleece/batting facing up. Add quilt front, wrong side
down, to fleece/batting using the same spray and smooth method as the backing.
Trim edges and square-up quilt. Quilt as desired.

Here's a tip for appliqueing white fabrics over dark fabrics:
When applying white applique designs over a darker printed fabric, sometimes the bottom
fabric will show through. To avoid this, here’s what I do to keep it from happening:

Take two pieces of white fabric.

Spray one side of one piece with Therm O Web Spray n Bond Basting Adhesive
lay second piece of fabric over the sprayed area matching edges.

Trace design on smooth side of Heat n Bond Lite, Iron-on Adhesive.

Iron applique, rough side down, on either side of the two sprayed sections of fabric.
Cut out applique designs.

Peel off paper liner from the backs of applique pieces...it is so easy to peel off!
Place applique, adhesive side down,  on right side of fabric. Press each section
following manufacturer’s directions until entire piece is bonded. Let cool.

Blend’ Fabric’s Limonella Table Runner

I'm on the Therm O Web blog today showing the process of putting this  table runner together.
The Blend Limonella fabric is really beautiful and would brighten up any room!

Blend’s Limonella fabric line by designer Brenda Walton was such a pleasure to sew with.
The fabric made my room and my day a lot happier with all the butterflies, flowers, and birds.

Therm O Web products, Blend Fabrics, and Aurifil threads make a great combination.

Such a great runner for a picnic, too!

Blend Fabric's Caliope Designs In A Diaper Bag With Accesories

I have a new sweet Monkey Baby to motivate me to sew baby things, which was why
I was really excited to get the adorable Blend Fabric Caliope by Maude Asbury.
The whole line is so sweet!

Caliope Diaper Bag

I used Simplicity pattern #2924 to make the bag, burp cloth, and changing pad before
sending it off to Blend Fabrics to take to Quilt Market in Houston.

Therm O Web's Fabric Fuse held the flower and button in place until I could sew it in place.

A whole post about making this bag is at the Therm O Web blog today.

The Super Dooper Boo Crew Quilt

I was so lucky to sew the Super Dooper Boo Crew quilt out of Blend’s Boo Crew fabrics.
It's even luckier that I get to post about it over on the Therm O Web blog!

Super Dooper Boo Crew

All the designs are so, so cute! I used the dog fabrics, but the cat designs are adorable, too.

I love these Heat n Bond EZ Print Lite sheets!
I know, I've said it a million times, but seriously, there's no tracing.
Just run the design through your inkjet printer...tada!

Trying to take photos of the quilt was interesting. The two year old was staying with
us for a few days and I guess he felt those bony dogs needed the ball.
He kept putting it back every time I moved. it. I love this Monkey Boy!

Bruster "Boo" isn't sure about these bony dogs hanging around his back yard.

You can find the pattern for Super Dooper Boo Crew at my Craftsy shop HERE.

Total Panda-monium Toddler Quilt

Jason and Jill Toddle are the perfect size toddler quilt at 25" x 36".
I think they could create as much Panda-monium as the five Monkey Boys do!

Jason Toddle

They were sewn using the sweet Blend Fabrics Panda-rama Collection by Maude Asbury.

I'm over at the Therm O Web blog today sharing these cute bears and a pillow, too!
