Birthday Sale On My Patterns

My birthday is later this week so I thought I'd celebrate by having a
50% OFF SALE on my patterns!
It lasts until the end of the day on May 7th (which might just be my birthday.)
My daughter made this cake...maybe I'll have her make one for me.
Peanut butter and chocolate make such a yummy combination!

You can check out my patterns in my Etsy store HERE.

Have a great day!

Quilted Works Birthday And Giveaway Time!

Can a quilt store celebrate becoming a teenager?
Well, yes...sort of.
Quilted Works is having a birthday party this week to celebrate turning 13!
13...teenager...get it?

Happy Birthday, Quilted Works!
To help get their party started, they gave me a laser cut pillow kit to share with one of you.
How awesome is that!

This cute, cute pattern by Kimberbell is so easy to make...really it is,
especially with all the pieces cut out and ready to press on the fabric.
Love it!
I know how easy it is because I bought a kit for myself.

You get four chances on this giveaway, but you don't have to do them all.
The first entry just requires an email address and a click on "Enter"...that's it!
The other entries are extras...it's totally up to you.

Sorry, cupcakes are not included in the giveaway (I just might have eaten them...maybe.)
I bought them at The Sweet Tooth Fairy to get started on the birthday celebrating.
It was hard to choose which ones to buy. So many yummies in that store!

It's A Birthday Pillow

It all started with me needing just one piece of fabric to finish something, but of course I saw
something else at the quilt store. It called my name so how could I resist!
I blame Quilted Works for having another cute laser cut kit sitting there for me to see.

I bought the kit and made the pillow.
It's not really my birthday, but I had to hang something on those cute clothespins.
I really need to make better letters, but I love the pillow!

Want to know the best part?

They gave me a kit to share with a friend, so next week during their birthday celebration
I'll be having a giveaway of this pillow kit. Cool, isn't it! Check back on Monday to enter.
Thank you, Quilted Works for letting me help you celebrate your 13th birthday!

Another Day...No Big Deal

It's JUST my birthday.
No big deal!

I was about 6 in this photo...so that's just a few years ago

I don't need any gifts, fanfare, or special treatment.

Wait! What am I saying?
A birthday deserves LOTS of fanfare!

So...
How about a Follower's Giveaway?

All you have to do to enter is:
  1. Be a FOLLOWER by one of the gazillion ways to follow me.
  2. Leave a short and sweet comment
  3. Only one entry per person.
  4. The Follower's Giveaway will end on May 12th at 6 p.m. MST (comments left after that time won't count.)
  5. Make sure I have your email address or you can't win!
What's the prize you ask? I can't tell you because it's a surprise...
I'm going to the quilt store today to pick out
something for me (for my birthday) and something for a lucky winner.

It's going to be a great day!

P.S. I have a new email address:

My Baby Is How Old? Really?

It's my youngest daughter's birthday today. She made this cup for me several years ago....yes, I still have it (she must have known I loved purple.)

I used to call her my "Angel" (she's still my angel, but now I have to share her with her husband and those sweet Monkey Boys.)

She's really funny, especially around that husband of hers. I keep telling them
their face is going to freeze like this, but they just don't listen to me!

She's really talented, too. She decorates cakes that taste as good as they look
and she sews when there's not a Monkey Boy hanging onto her legs or in her arms.

Sometimes I'm taken aback when I realize that I have children who are all grown up.
I can't possibly be THAT old....can I?

Have you been checking out the Black Tie Boogie Blog Hop?
It's been such cocka-doodle-do fun!

An Okay Day Made Even Better

It's not a big deal and I wasn't even going to mention it, but today was
my birthday. I had to work so it wasn't much of a day of celebrating.
BUT that changed when I came home to 60, yes 60,
of these notes from my family spread out ALL over my house.
My youngest daughter asked each of my kids and their families (and my
husband) to write five memories or things they liked about me.
(Each note had the writer's name on it--I just smeared it out on this one.)

(My son didn't like sauce on noodles when he was growing up so I always
had a separate dish of just noodles set aside for him.)

I laughed and cried as I walked around the house reading each one.
Some were so sweet, some were just hysterical.
There were lots of those inside jokes families always have.

#18.  You're an amazing cook, even when you forget the tuna!
(I once forgot to put tuna in a tuna casserole...none of my
kids have let me live that one down! I admit it was pretty funny.)

#8. Thanks for helping me move out...and then back in again...multiple times.
(My home has a revolving door on it when it comes to my kids.)

#56. I loved it when we made tooth fairy pillows.
(This Monkey Boy just lost his first tooth so he got to use his pillow.)

#43. You would be my phone-a-friend if I needed help with
a question on a game show. You know a lot!
(I have her so, so fooled about that.)

#57. I like it when you buy us stuff. Like Slurpees!
(I'm a good grandma when it comes to buying things for my Monkey Boys.)

I can't put them all here, but just know they were all so special!

This was an amazing gift and such a great idea!
These little notes and the slice of cheesecake I brought home
after dinner at Cheesecake Factory made it a very nice BIG birthday.
I loved it!

Just A Present

But, not just any present. Receiving a gift is always fun, but when I know that the gift was homemade (by someone who doesn't sew very often) it is really special to me. My daughter "whipped" this up for my birthday with a little help from her three boys. She apologized for the uneven and skipped stitches (my five-year-old grandson got a little heavy-footed on the pedal a few times-LOL!) but I think it is just so cute! Thanks, Linds, I love it!

Dresden Carnival In Rikstacket

C heck out the Summer 2026 R IKSTACKET quilt magazine that my friend, Britt-Inger, sent me  from Sweden. It was such a pleasure and an hono...
