The Elephants Are Coming!

I've been crazy in love with elephants ever since Lorna at Sew Fresh Quilts
created the most adorable quilt pattern, Elephant Parade, and had us quilt along with her.
Thanks, Lorna, for such a sweet pattern...I've had so much fun!

Even with my elephants going the wrong way and scaring that poor turtle, I love how it turned out.
To finish it, I added a double ruffle and some very simple wavy lines to quilt it.

I'm thinking of making another one in shades of blue (and no ruffle) for a more Monkey Boy look.
Don't you want to make one, too!

AND...

The Tree Bird blog hop is still happening...check out all the creative birdie things going on.

I have a GIVEAWAY going on right now along with the Tree Bird Blog Hop, so check it out, too!

  1. My elephant parade is also marching on, but I haven´t sewn the birds and the flowers yet. I love your pink and girly quilt. It is so appropriate with the ruffles. Thank you for sharing.

  7. I've not started to think about a new elephant quilt yet. I have some more blocks to sew on my first one. A really happy project to take part in. Thanks for the inspiration to start a parade of pink elephants.

  8. I am 'tickled pink' by your fabulous finish, Carol. The addition of those delicate ruffles is just the icing on this delicious cake! Love the organic wavy line quilting. That is one of my fave methods for a fast and fun finish. Oh... I hope you do make another in blue, too!!!

  11. I see nothing wrong way about this quilt. I love the big eyes on the turtle as he came face to face with the baby elephant. LOL Made me laugh. Very nicely finished.

  23. Oh, I love the ruffle on top. What a great idea! I may just have to do something similar because I wanted to add a 6th row but don't have enough of the grey elephant fabric. Maybe some ribbon stripes or chevrons at top and bottom will add the length I'm looking for. Thanks for the inspiration!

  29. I like the idea of doing a pink or blue parade for the perfect gift. The turtle does look a little scared with the elephants marching toward him - it makes me smile. :-) No one would have guessed it was a mistake if you didn't tell them. Linky party has given me so many ideas.'
