I used Benartex "Halloween Spirit" and Benartex "Cotton Shot" in my quilt.
I love to use solids when I applique!

How does our Which Way to Witchville BOM work? 

The 2023 "Which Way to Witchville" BOM runs from January 1st through September 30th. 

All block releases happen on our Cackling Stitches Facebook page HERE.

We even give you the fabric requirements early to help you conjure/gather your fabrics.
You can find it HERE.

It's not a mystery BOM. We show you each of our finished quilts!

On the first day of each month, we release a block pattern (sometimes it's more than one)
 that is free for the entire calendar month. After that, those blocks go into our
ETSY shops where you can purchase them for $2 each. 

New and free block(s) then appear for the new month...and so on, and so on.

 So, what is "NEW" and never been done by us? 

Beginning January 1st, the ENTIRE pattern is available in each of our ETSY shops for $15.
We've had so many people ask us if they can buy the whole thing at once, so we decided to go for it.
If you can't wait for each block release or you don't have a Facebook page, this is for you!

We hope you appreciate the time we put into creating this BOM and understand that we keep
 the costs to a minimum for you. We ask that you respect our copyrights and do not share the 
pattern with others. You're welcome to direct your friends to our Cackling Stitches Group 
Facebook or any of our ETSY shops so they can get their own patterns starting January 1st.

Day Four Of Little Green Apples

The challenge of using green, apples, or both in the "Little Green Apples" blog hop was met with incredible enthusiasm and creativity. I'm blown away (as usual) on the talent in the quilting world!


Yesterday was really fun!

Inflorescence showed us her little apple coasters (so cute) and told us of her adventures as
a Girl Scout Leader and cookie manager. Sounds like craziness with all those cookies!

Ms P Designs USA showed us a Frankenbag...extra blocks and fabric pieces sewn together.
 I think this would be a fabulous Halloween bag with that name!

Words & Stitches brought us the Wizard of Oz in her quilt. 
Ruby slippers, poppies, and Dorothy are just some of what you'll see in her project.

The Crafty Grammie will amaze you with her beautiful creations.
She totally rocked the challenge with table runners, pillow, and pot holders. Wow!

Beaquilter used some green farm fabric from her store to make a sweet table runner.

Texas Quilt Gal made the loveliest apple pie quilt in pinks and greens. It's so adorable!

Pinker n' Punkin Quilting & Stitching shared a little quilt and recipe for apple butter.
They both look fabulous!

Day Three Of Little Green Apples And Why To Join Blog Hops

Another day of green and apples in this month's challenge, "Little Green Apples." Wowzers...so many incredibly talented people sharing their creations!


RECAP OF YESTERDAY...

Creatin' in the Sticks shared her awesome green scrappy quilt that was quilted
with shamrocks. She also showed off some of her quilt photo adventures with me.

Quilted Delights sewed up the coolest and cutest green bags!
She said they are easy and would make great gifts.

Karrin's Crazy World gathered up the courage to pull out her apple core pieces from long,
long ago and sew them together. They look amazing! Way to go, Karrin!

The Quiltery (For the Love of Geese) made an adorable green puff quilt and a quilt full of jars 
with fruits and veggies in them. Looks more fun than slaving over a hot stove canning things!

Vroomans Quilts never disappoints with her use of scraps in quilts. All those tiny squares
she had in her stash became a beautiful quilt. She's the queen of scraps!

The Quilted Snail had three quilt tops she'd had waiting to finish for five years. She finished them!
They all came from a bag of scraps she bought...wow!

Homespun Hannah made a wall hanging of big green apples. It looked amazing!

Joyful Quilter got into sewing green for this challenge. She made so many amazing mug rugs!

So, what's the big deal about our challenges and blog hops 
and why should you join in?

You'll meet people with the same love of sewing as you.

Even if you don't have a blog, leaving comments makes someone feel good.

You will get ideas about projects that you hadn't thought of.

Tutorials always show up somewhere in these hops, so you can learn new things.

All those things you sew like quilts and bags, can have their day to show off on your blog.

You'll make friends that you might just get to meet like I did recently.
Carla from Creatin' in the Sticks and her husband, Daryl, came to LV twice for a visit.
We had such fun!

We also took our kayaks out for some wet adventures.
Carla and Daryl did most of the kayaking.

Day Two Of Little Green Apples

Yesterday was the first day of "Little Green Apples" and it was full of greens and apples...so fun! I love how amazing and talented my blog friends are with their sewing creations. 


A little recap of yesterday...

I kicked off the Sew It-Show It challenge with my "Little Green Apples" quilt.
I showed my age by sharing the song by Dean Martin.

Quilt Schmilt shared her wedding ring quilt and a quilt that would make 
a frog very happy with the pond design and pretty greens.

Quilting Gail made the cutest zipper bags that look like turtles (to me.) 
So cute!

Elizabeth Coughlin Designs never disappoints with her felt projects!
A pot of clovers and a candle mat in felt totally met the challenge.

Desertsky Quilting showed us her talent for sewing with tiny fabric pieces
and created a very sweet pincushion. 

Kathy's Kwilts shared her own quilt design that is really very pretty.
Congratulations to her getting a new grandbaby!

Sew Many Yarns made the list for best grandma with her play mat.
Her grandson is a lucky boy!

Little Green Apples Is Happening All Week

It is always such a treat to see how creative everyone gets with the Sew It - Show It blog hop challenges. It boggles my mind how different our ideas are. From bags to quilts, you continue to inspire me every month!


The challenge:

Sew something with green or apple fabric (or a combo of both!)

Little Green Apples


Wind and clouds everyday make for rough photo sessions. 



In case you're wondering (or not), I did have the song "Little Green Apples" stuck on a repeating cycle in my head. Not a bad song to have in my head, but over and over is a bit much. It has been sung by
many different people but to show my age, here is Dean Martin singing it. I loved his voice!




In reality, I don't like green apples...way too sour for me!
But this was a fun quilt to make as my answer to the "Little Green Apples" challenge.
It's green and it has apples. It's a win!

Dresden Carnival In Rikstacket

C heck out the Summer 2026 R IKSTACKET quilt magazine that my friend, Britt-Inger, sent me  from Sweden. It was such a pleasure and an hono...
