The Angle (this is from Regina's bowls--love them!)
Note: Yes, I know I sewed on 2 & 3 not 1 & 2--senior moment?
Take a piece of cardboard or plastic and lay it right next to
the line you are going to sew on.
Fold your paper back on the line and over the cardboard. This
makes a nice and precise crease.
Open it up. See that little crease?
Lay fabric #2 (black) facedown under fabric #1 (white)
and put your creased pattern on top of #1 with a 1/4" seam allowance.
Open up your pattern to make sure fabric #2 fits.
Fold back your pattern and cut fabric #2 along that 1/4" seam
allowance of fabric #1.
Get rid of that little piece of fabric #2 under fabric #1.
Place fabric #2 right-side together with fabric #1.
I made my little blue line so that I knew where to place
the pattern so it would totally fit on fabric #2.
Open up the pattern and sew on the line making sure to
leave a 1/4" seam. Open it up and press
It should be perfect. Should be, but if it isn't
SORRY--it worked for me!
Remember--I'm not an expert, just an amateur
who plays with fabric and paper.
I have to confess I thought that making these bowls would be much much easier. I still can't figure out the bottom section you posted about....and as for my bowl...well its so so sad....LOL Maybe it will look better with the bottom on maybe not...oh my!
ReplyDeleteI'd say you are definitely on your way to becoming an expert!
ReplyDeleteOh Carol, Thank you! Another way for me to try!! Maybe this time!!
ReplyDeleteA great hint, thank you
ReplyDeleteLove the hint. I''ll go try it now while I start a new set of bowls for the hop.
