Now I sew for my grandchildren and in between, I make quilts. My mom sewed but never made quilts. I learned at a night school class over 35 years ago.
I love the projects you've made. I try to do the same thing, even in the kitchen. Who wants to eat the same thing over and over? I learned to sew in Junior High Home Ec class. My wonderful sewing teacher was Miss Wilhelm and I'll always remember her for her patience and encouragement. I can't imagine a class of 30 girls all at a sewing machine for the first time and attending to them all! She was a saint.Kathy E.https://www.blogger.com/profile/15326822392780979118noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5716498262831849848.post-53005475159699792432016-03-26T19:23:23.509-06:002016-03-26T19:23:23.509-06:00I guess my mom originally taught me to sew, but I ...I guess my mom originally taught me to sew, but I got a few additional skills from the Home-Ec class that I took. After that, I was off and running! First it was just clothes, but since my kids are grown and gone, I sew quilts instead.

I'm right with you about not liking to make the same thing twice. Once I make a quilt, I have no desire to make the same pattern. I want something different and new things to learn. :)

Thanks for the give-away!Bechttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14707564665728254805noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5716498262831849848.post-50683628250808076812016-03-26T19:01:52.196-06:002016-03-26T19:01:52.196-06:00Thanks so much for your awesome giveaways! ;)Thanks so much for your awesome giveaways! ;)Lia*s Handmadeshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16187958238753030555noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5716498262831849848.post-20732099880078626152016-03-26T18:59:15.138-06:002016-03-26T18:59:15.138-06:00I learned how to sew in school in sewing class. I usually associate tricot with slips and lingerie. It looks beautiful.
I started sewing clothing when I was young. My mom was not a good seamstress even though she though she was. Her advice was often wrong and caused all kinds of problems. I didn't let her come anywhere near me when I was making my wedding dress. I don't think I would enjoy making clothing anymore.
