Fishy Fishy Baby Quilt With Crafter's Edge

It is so much fun creating with Crafter's Edge fabric dies and I love how easy they are to use! My "Fishy Fishy" quilt went together quickly using a variety of applique and fabric dies.

"Fishy Fishy Baby Quilt" - 47" x 47"

Fabrics are from my stash of Laurel Burch fabrics. I love how bright they are!

The Crossover II has adjustable dials that help with the cutting pressure and allow for one to six layers of fabric to be cut. I used the "Fancy Fish" die, 1" circle from the Mini Circle Set 2, 5 1/2" and 7" squares from the Squares die set, and the 2 1/2" strip cutter for one of the borders.

The fish die can be cut in several ways. I chose to add extra fins and not use the scales. I love how my fish turned out! When appliqueing on any of my projects, I only use my favorite iron-on adhesive...HeatnBond Lite. It's easy to peel off from the fabric without having to score the paper.

The fish can face either way just by placing it on either the paper or fabric side.

The squares for the center of the quilt were cut using the 7" square die. I used my Accuquilt GO cutter and the Crafter's Edge adapter. Lay the die straight on the fabric and then slightly tilt both to run through the cutter.

Using a heatproof applique acrylic sheet makes it easy to assemble any applique before adding it the fabric.

Cutting the 1" circles was a breeze with the Mini Circle Set 2. Just iron the applique adhesive to fabric and run the circle die through the machine. Perfect circles every time!

  3. What a bright happy baby quilt! The fish are so cute. That’s the perfect place to photograph a fishy quilt. I’m glad I don’t see any fishermen with fishing poles anywhere near! LOL. You’ve got a great helper

  7. Oh my gosh your new "Fishy Fishy Baby Quilt" design and quilt is so adorable. I absolutely love it. And, I love these dies. Honestly, I'd much rather store thin vs bulky dies. I definitely want to check these dies out.
