Laying Around With The Lion

When my children were really little I made four lion quilts for my nieces as Christmas gifts. I got busy and never made them for my own four children, so my sister jumped right in and made them each a lion quilt using my pattern. What a great sister! My kids took their blankets in the car when we went on vacations, they slept with them, and they wrapped up in them to watch TV.

I love that they all still have them!

With a few updates and a larger size, I made a pattern and put it on Craftsy
(with that cute logo Madame Samm whipped up for me.)

The kid's always referred to their quilts as "The Lion Quilt" so that's what it's called:

I think there is a whole new generation out there who need their own lion quilt.
Maybe even the Monkey Boys need one, too!

  4. OMG, so adorable! I love how you added the ties on the lion's mane. The mane made with minkee would be equally cute. Congrats on #2!

  7. What a wonderful childs quilt. It's sew OZ. Congrats on the second pattern. I remember taking a class on retirement awhile back and the speaker told us that the lucky ones don't really retire they just change career paths. It appears that you are one of the lucky ones. Great path you have taken.
